How the new SwiftBoat ad will backfire - Nader voters.
Edited on Tue Aug-24-04 03:11 PM by mzmolly
Sorry Swiftie liars, but your new ad showing Kerry protesting the Vietnam War, will only endear him to some of the Anti-War left who may have been on the fence between Kerry/Nader.

I repeat, "the new ad will endear Kerry to some Nader voters, who might not otherwise have considered him"

Makes for a nice meme regardless, does it not? ;) Say it with me folks! It's our pre-emptive strike on the Swiftie-liars!

1. We need an ad showing these lines from the Kerry testimony
Edited on Tue Aug-24-04 03:12 PM by A_Possum
From Congressional Record:

Mr. Kerry: Well, Senator, frankly it does not appeal to me if American men have to continue to die when they don't have to, particularly when it seems the Government of this country is more concerned with the legality of where men sleep than it is with the legality of where they drop bombs. (Applause.)...

But at the present moment that is not going to happen, so we are talking about men continuing to die for nothing and I think there is a tremendous moral question here which the Congress of the United States is ignoring...

But I think if can talk in this legislative body about filibustering for porkbarrell programs, then we should start now to talk about filibustering for the saving of lives and of our country. (Applause.)

And this, Mr. Chairman, is what we are trying to convey."

That sounds like a patriot to me.

2. Plus it's not news
It's a little distorted, but it's not new information. It's part of the public record and if you haven't picked up on the fact that Kerry was an anti-war activist by now, you're probably not going to notice now, even with ads. The first one was newly fabricated information. If true it would have been a story. Now the "story" is just what a bunch of lies it was.

6. Yes, but the "knee jerk" ones are not on the fence. They're
firmly in the Bush pocket. And, all we need are a "few" to win a close election

However, LuminiousX got the greater point of my convoluted thread.
