Bush is losing ground in key Arizona County
A poll of voters in Republican-dominant Maricopa County indicated a substantial decline of support for President Bush, although he remained ahead of Democrat John Kerry by slightly more than the margin of error.

After consistently chalking up 12-point leads over Kerry in three Rocky Mountain Polls since April, the president scored only a five-point, 46-41 percent, in mid Augus.

Republicans outnumber Democrats in Maricopa County by rougly 4-3, and the county has more than 60 percent of the states voters.

1. This is it this is the strategy to make Az blue this year

Okay everyone I am willing to bet anyone on here I dunno I'll take an embarassing photo of myself and post it if I lose, BUSH WILL NOT WIN IN AZ

This is how very simple. Bush can win Maricopa (Phoenix) but the trick is he cannot win by much which is what looks like is going to happen.

Pima County (Tucson) will overwhelmingly vote for Johnny K. That's the other half of the key to winning; GET THE VOTE OUT IN TUCSON. There are far more Democrats than Repubs in Tucson.

THIS is how Napilitano was elected. For those who don't know her Republican opponent wasn't exactly what you would call unpopular. The truth is if Arizona can elect a very liberal governor using the tactics I mentioned, we can for sure give Kerry the victory he could really use in Az.

(FYI had Gore won Az in 2000 he'd be sitting where * squats today REGARDLESS of any vote stealing scandal)

2. Yeah for Maricopa county....
My county. Pinal county is definitely Kerry country. Most native American reservations are in Pinal county and they vote Democrat. Tucson is Democrat. Flagstaff is going Democrat.

3. My dad's a 25-year Scottsdale resident
...and will probably vote for GeeDubya, anyway. But it's really amazing to think that Maricopa County, home of Joe "Chaingang" "Tent City" Arpayo (sp?), could be too close to call right now. IIRC Maricopa is solid Goldwater Country-- it will be a HUGE coup if it goes for Kerry this year.

In fact, I'll be precinct walking with AZDemDist6 this weekend if this cold doesn't kill me first.

And it MAY, I'm sorry to say!

6. I can't stand Maricopa County
I'm sorry to say it, but I've seen more */Cheney bumper stickers than Kerry ones there. And practically all the billboards for the coming local elections are for Repukes. Bleh.
