1. That MOE is way too high to take it seriously.
I'd love for this to be true, but if the MOE is closing in on 5%, you know the poll is probably bunk.

I'm not saying Obama doesn't lead, but don't get your hopes up until you see another poll to balance this out. My guess, McCain leads by a slim margin there.

4. I'm just enjoying it. The Republican scandals in Alaska and a never-been-done-before
Democratic turnout effort will make it interesting but I certainly wouldn't count on it. I just like making Republicans sweat about states they shouldn't have to be concerned with defending.

8. See #7, it won't happen. It's great that it's closer than in the past.
But AK won't go for the Dems in the fall.

I'm willing to bet a $1,000,000 on it.

3. I'm not banking on Alaska, but...
if we were to win that, that will be all she wrote for RepubliCONs for a good while.

7. Does anyone really believe we can win Alaska? I mean, it's great that things are closer.

The 50 state strategy is working.

But I think it's not very realistic to believe we'll win there.

Iowa? Yeah. Virginia? Maybe. Colorado? Could happen.

But Alaska? I doubt it.

Here's the results from AK for the last few four elections:

2004: Kerry 35%, Bush 62%
2000: Gore 28%, Bush 59%
1996: Clinton 33%, Dole 51%
1992: Clinton 30%, Bush 40%

In not ONE election, has a Democrat got above 40% in Alaska in the last four elections.

In all but one, the Republicans got 50%+ and the majority of votes. Only one that didn't break 50% was in 1992, when Perot made it a three way race.

It's great we're putting effort into Alaska. I read that Obama has offices there, and I'm sure the scandals will help.

But it's not going to happen.
