Has there been an "Obama's VP Pick Predictions" thread yet?
...or have there been, like, a thousand already?

Haven't been around much lately...so here's mine. :)

Wes Clark.

NOTE: this is not necessarily who you want to get pick, or who you think would be best.

This is who you think will get tapped.

So...

:)

1. I thought Sebelius, but after hearing about the Securing America's Future theme
I also choose Wes Clark.

4. I think Wes Clark as well. But when?
They're really hyping up this instant messaging business. Another e-mail a couple of hours ago.

I'm guessing this week. And before the very end of the week to get in the weekend news cycle.

9. The title of the speech by the "as yet unnamed VP candidate" make me think
it will be Clark, too. I just don't see why they would use that title if it wasn't Clark.

That being said, I stopped considering Clark a while back. Not because I didn't want him for VP, but because I thought Obama's camp stopped considering him.

18. Clark placates the Clintonians...
adds a full measure of military cred,
and hasn't pissed off the progressives.

I'll be happy with that choice.

15. Wildest dark horse yet: Sen. John Tester, Montana. Even has a crew cut.
No broad qualifications, but "values" of the heartland. Farmer. Integrity. Connects with the constituencies Barack needs. Really a great counterweight to all this nasty "foreign" stuff (thanks, Cokie).

He's my dark horse. He would absolutely blow the insiders like Rove out of the water.

19. God, I hope it's Clark. And, I hope to manifest Clark through predicting him.
After the smear ads from McLiar and the new war in the Caucuses, Clark is the person for the job. An Attack Dog, with major foreign policy cred.

He knows how to work the 5 second sound bite.

Next hope is Biden.

Biden

Or Al Gore.

And my never-gonna-happen pick is Janet Napolitano.

...iirc, you predicted Clark as Kerry's pick, too. (So did I! :()

I'm HOPING for Clark, but trying not to get my hopes up too high. He's the most UNDER-valued Democrat out there, and the most valuable, imho.

On edit: About the prediction, part of me expects somebody "safe," like the usual senator or governor. But another part of me can't help hoping the Obama team will make the bold, smart move of tapping Clark.

32. Yea, Sparkly,
we predicted Wes as kerry's pick because kerry led us to believe he'd do the right thing. NOT A CHANCE.

WES is 'undervalued' by the party hacks, and i don't think he's under-valued but he frightens them 'cause he won't stand for the nonsense that goes on, he just wouldn't. that's why he was blacked-out in '04 primaries, dems and repubs feared him.

He certainly is the most valuable.

34. I'm out on a lonely limb still saying it's Hillary, but if I am wrong, it will be Clark.
None other than DU's Alexander has me actually doubting my bold assertion (and brave here considering how she is treated) that HIllary would be the VP.

Still, William, the "Security Night" on Wednesday could either mean Clark, Kerry or Hagel. The Clintons could draw some solace if it was Clark for remember: Bill Clinton had said that the Democratic Party only has two 'stars' and they are Hillary and Wes Clark." Well, in light of Obama's international 'celebrity', we know that Bill didn't see his star rising. That said, Clark is in the Clinton fold.

My choice for Prez throughout all of 2007 was General Clark. Like so many others here, I finally realized he just wasn't going to run. And then I bounced around undecided until December '07 when I saw how the best candidate in the pack could run a great campaign, too.

Obama/Clark? If it is the ticket, then you have a winner, William.

And I'd be very happy with that ticket. Very happy indeed.

But Old Crusoe got me thinking about Caroline Kennedy. Practical implications aside, that would be fabulous in my book.
