It is not in nature for the BFEE to skip things like this because of a little problem with "regular" people...remember the bushs had a fantastic year 2001

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Gov. Jeb Bush said Tuesday that he won't attend the Republican National Convention next week in New York, where his brother will be renominated, because of the Hurricane Charley recovery.

"There will be a role later on for me to play" in the presidential race, Bush told reporters. "The recovery phase of this is important to get started and ... being up in New York is inappropriate."

1. It's okay, he's got his new blood brother,
John McCain to hold his hand.

3. interesting
"There will be a role later on for me to play" in the presidential race, Bush told reporters.

Well, that's certainly interesting. Wonder what he has in mind. Rigging voting machines? Intimidating voters?

6. Could be...
That he feels that his brother has screwed the pooch and does not want any of the chimp's "magic" to stick to him. After all, he has his own political fish he is looking to fry, down the road.

Unless, of course, someone gets the goods on him, finally, and he finds himself responding to supoenas and giving depositions. Not outside of the realm of possibility.

7. Jeb Can't Spare The Time to go to NYC
He's too busy in Florida making sure the electronic election machines are properly rigged.

9. There will be a role later on for me to play...
There's the problem! I'll bet they've got a role for him to play -- say around November 2? Rather a chance to revisit the role he made his own back in 2000...don't you think?

11. Here's my guess 'cause these criminals have everything scripted:
They don't want his '08 bid tarnished by the way Bush is going to play "Mr. In the Middle". Remember that in 2000 Falwell and Robertson told their people to shut up and not do their usual screaming on issues and let Bush play the "middle" and be elected and then he would pay them off royally. So Bush will play his part to an equally warned audience. But if Bush gets elected, he's going to screw these bastards because he isn't going to give money to their goddamn faith based crap and he's going to go with stem cell research for his drug company sweethearts. So Jeb can re-emerge in '08 as the champion of the lunatics.

15. Falwell and Robertson are screwed either way
If Bush loses, then they will be livid for having kept quiet. The fundy right will rip the party apart by either leaving (unlikely) or by insisting on an even harder right party.

2008 could be a bonafide landslide for Democrats.

13. Well, if our idiot-in-chief hadn't appointed his buddy as head of FEMA
Recovery might be well under way and Jeb might've actually been able to make the convention. Funny how things work out.
