Mitchell's comment about McCain touched a nerve...
Rick Davis is whining his ass off.

McCain's campaign manager Rick Davis asked Sunday for a meeting with Steve Capus, the president of NBC News, to protest what the campaign called signs that the network is "abandoning non-partisan coverage of the Presidential race."

Davis made the request Sunday in a letter that is part of an aggressive effort by Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) to counter news coverage he considers critical.

Politico has asked NBC for a response and will post that here when it arrives.

In this case, the campaign is objecting to a statement by NBC's Andrea Mitchell on "Meet the Press" questioning whether McCain might have gotten a heads-up on some of the questions that were asked of Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), who was the first candidate to be interviewed Saturday night by Pastor Rick Warren at a presidential forum on faith.

1. Touchy touchy.
They seem a little nervous about that forum last night. Gee, wonder why.

3. The McCain people are firing a shot across NBC's bow.

Kinda reminiscent of what they did to Dan Rather.

But also a dangerous game that could backfire, and could further plant the idea in public awareness that he cheated.

7. Interesting. I'm reading Mitchell's book right now, where she describes
this exact kind of stuff happening to her throughout her career. She's gotten every kind of threat imaginable, mostly from Repukes.

8. Uh, Senator McCain? I've seen cars with TVs before...

"In a motorcade" is not a valid excuse. If he wasn't isolated in their green room, it means that he was able to hear the questions and responses.

9. It goes to the very heart of his campaign: His honor.
Or clear lack thereof. No wonder they're buzzing like frantic bees in a hive--they must really be worried that this cheat suspicion has legs, especially since it's all on videotape.

13. Yep, they used the POW card on his first marriage failure from cheating, and
now they're trying to use it again, to say that it's IMPOSSIBLE for someone held prisoner to ever cheat. Ridiculous. How many times are they going to keep pulling this card out of the deck?

And the thing about his first marriage is because hardly anybody knows about it
it will be all new to them.

Then they will realize they don't know anything about the guy. Honor my ass.

17. His POW story is his sword and shield--he attacks with it, he defends with it.
No honor in this man's body.

19. Wait - McCain's campaign manager just admitted NBC doesn't have a liberal bias?
which is why he's all bothered about Andrea Mitchell putting a chink in NBC's journalistic integrity.

Geesh - first there's the links prove McCain voted for the very Supremes he said he would never vote for - now this. I'm going to have to space this stuff out. I can't very well send them all to my inlaws in the same night - their little heads would explode and I don't want to send one of them into an embolism.........

23. This what they do whenever someone doesn't walk the line for them. Its a game
Now NBC will feel they need to prove they aren't bias. By attacking Obama hard for two days. They did this while Obama was on the overseas trip
