Back to Aggressive Whining

The McCain campaign wants an apology from NBC for failure to fluff.

As a side note, we keep hearing that McCain is 'reluctant' to talk about his POW experience. But he sends out his press spokespeople to use it to deflect questions about his honesty. Said Nicolle Wallace: ""The insinuation from the Obama campaign that John McCain, a former prisoner of war, cheated is outrageous."

Edited to add:

I also believe, however, that McCain, through the course of his campaign, has been playing fast and loose with the truth. A lot. If McCain is using a powerful, emotional story that isn’t true, voters deserve to hear about it.

1. We have manufactured "outrage" from the McCain folks ... far too much and far too late.

2. If Gore could be branded a "serial exaggerator" for things he never said...
...then by rights McSame should be branded a bald-faced liar for the things he actually said.

3. We have to make sure the "Cross in dirt" story has legs TODAY
The "Cone of Silence" story is already out there...the POW story goes to the heart of McCain's brand...

Why I Will Not Vote for John McCain
Phillip Butler | March 27, 2008

As some of you might know, John McCain is a long-time acquaintance of mine that goes way back to our time together at the U.S. Naval Academy and as Prisoners of War in Vietnam. He is a man I respect and admire in some ways. But there are a number of reasons why I will not vote for him for President of the United States.

******

I furthermore believe that having been a POW is no special qualification for being President of the United States. The two jobs are not the same, and POW experience is not, in my opinion, something I would look for in a presidential candidate.

8. McCain is not the problem; the Media partisanship delivers & sets the message.
Dems are too stupid, apparently, to promulgate Media Partisanship, Election Reform, Constitutional Law, and those other things, on a National Stage for several decades--yet "we" complain bitterly, and continuously about being "victims". We sound more stupid than the fucking fundies with their persecution ideals....

I believe change has to happen locally; you fight the local fight, but you do it united everywhere, similar to the 50-State strategy. And you have to have leaders emerge who will carry truth and justice issues up the ladder--this is my despair, that so many dem pols lose that focus and either become name-brand politicians who see political officeholding as lucrative careers, or wilt in the heat of isolation. Fuck them.

And fuck us, too, because, pessimistically, I don't think we're safe anymore. And I'm weary, but I'll get over it because quitting isn't an option.

Aggresive whining is apolitical, and those practioners should be kicked permenately out of political life, they bring nothing of substance to the table.
