McCain should stop whining about media bias and brief his clueless surrogates about his record

Jindal stumped when asked to name new ‘big ideas’ that McCain is proposing.

This morning on NBC’s Meet the Press, host David Gregory asserted that the Republican Party “used to be the party of big ideas.” Gregory then asked his guest Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal (R-LA), “What’s the big idea Senator McCain is campaigning on?” Jindal responded, “I think there’s several,” but couldn’t provide an answer. Gregory asked again, “Where are the new big ideas of the Republican Party that John McCain is, is championing?” And again Jindal couldn’t provide an answer. Watch it:

(Video: http://thinkprogress.org/2008/08/17/jindal-stumped-when-asked-to-new-big-ideas-that-mccain-is-proposing">Jindal can't name any McCain 'big ideas')

Jindal is just the latest McCain surrogate to be stumped when asked to defend McCain’s policies. Earlier this month, former Gov. Mitt Romney (R-MA) couldn’t name a single McCain accomplishment on energy in his long congressional career. Similarly, Gov. Mark Sanford (R-SC) recently drew a blank when asked to name a major economic policy that Bush and McCain do not agree on.

2. Looks like McCain's got his own Kirk Watson.
Looks like it's not the candidates--it's the irresponsible surrogates who don't bother to do their homework and embarrass their candidates on TV.

4. heh, that was kind of classic.
Though McCain has this problem with his really high profile surrogates a lot...Mark Sanford, Mittens, etc. Yet, we never get to see those little moments over and over like we did the Watson one.

5. No.
Kirk Watson was an Obama supporter, not on the same level. Jindal was being pushed as a potential VP for McCain. What's Romney's excuse? Didn't he do any opposition research on McCain when he was campaigning.

6. There wasn't any excuse for Watson to go on TV unprepared.
He had plenty of things he could have mentioned if he'd bothered to do any homework--and he should have been aware that the media hates Democrats.

7. That still doesn't have anything to do with McCain's two high-profile
surrogates being stumped.

8. Admittedly, that is quite a bit worse...
What exactly did Romney say?

9. Media Bias?!

McSame can't PAY for better press coverage (or suppression) than what he's been getting so far in this election. It's really scary to think that we might possibly wake up with him as POTUS in November and we all will have to learn the HARD way (if we somehow manage to survive at all) how reckless, unqualified, and utterly clueless he is during the next 4 years like we've all had to endure the past 8 years of a man whose Presidency has been an unmitigated disaster but who apparently was able to fool just enough people into believing was just a regular guy they could share a beer with and could still kick some terrorist a** when necessary. Hopefully, the media get so sick of McSame complaining about them that they actually start doing their job and stop carrying water for him. That would actually work quite nicely for the rest of us and Democracy in general.

10. Actually, this is another case of McSame ...
as the interviewer correctly pointed out, his list of McSame's "big ideas" was a list that Bush ran on in 2000, and hasn't done a damn thing with it ...

So, McSame's plan is Bush2000 ...
