When Pastor Warren said 'we' tossed a coin...
to see who goes first,
who was the 'we' he was referring to if McCain wasn't there?

was the coin toss done another day before the show?
don't all the people involved have to be present, so Obama and McCain and Warren all met, on a different day, to toss a coin?

so if Obama tossed a coin, being the only participant there, and he got the first up anyway does this make it all okay?

I think someone should ask him that.
over and over again.

4. And someone, if not Larry, should as the Pastor what he meant when he said this....
to McCain, from the transcript found on the good Pastors own website:

10 A UNION -- A UNION BETWEEN MAN AND WOMAN, BETWEEN
11 ONE MAN AND ONE WOMAN, THAT'S MY DEFINITION OF MARRIAGE.
12 ARE WE GOING TO GET BACK TO THE IMPORTANCE OF SUPREME
13 COURT JUSTICES.
14 Q WE'LL GET TO THAT.
15 A ALL RIGHT. OKAY.
16* Q YOU GOT ALL MY QUESTIONS, GOOD.
17 A WHEN WE SPEAK OF THE ISSUES OF THE RIGHTS OF THE
18 UNBORN, WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT JUDGES, BUT ANYWAY GO AHEAD.

Note #16 Q YOU GOT ALL MY QUESTIONS, GOOD.

7. Hint.
http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-saddleback22-2008jul22,0,3299827.story

Dated 7/21/08, so the coin toss happened on 7/21 or before.

I don't think both candidates had to be present and stay in the building from then until the interviews. Rather limiting, that.

No, it wasn't necessary for anybody but Warren to be there. There's no assertion that they were all there, so not having one or both candidates there doesn't contradict any statement. It just says there was a coin toss, and Warren would have been the tosser. Presumably Obama's folks could have been there; same for McCain's. Perhaps they actually figured it didn't matter, or liked the order, or didn't dislike the order too much, or heard the coin hit the table, or even just trusted somebody that wasn't in their hip pocket. Foolish, having respect for others, but some fools do it. After all, this is the US.

In other words, you asked the right questions, and had you been willing to entertain the idea that people weren't lying, would almost certainly have deduced very plausible, and quite accurate, answers.

Or, if you don't trust deductive logic (that *is* a leap of faith, I suppose), there's Google. Or Yahoo. Or Dogpile. Or other search engines. "Warren McCain Obama coin toss" did it for me.

8. Since gramps wasn't even there, what would they have done if he had to go first?
Would they have delayed the start of the forum to wait for him? And if they would have waited for him to arrive to start, why couldn't they wait for him to arrive to insure that he was in the "cone of silence" before beginning with Obama? There's no way in hell anyone is ever going to convince me that Warren didn't know McCone was not there when he assured everyone he was sequestered.

10. that's true, he had to have known things weren't going as planned - at the very least.
and no matter where or when or who was involved with the coin toss, Obama had no choice but to go first seeing as McCain wasn't there.
That part I can understand, the rest not so much.

9. Heads Obama wins, tails McSame loses
Obama had to go first and the coin toss had to be fixed or the whole event would have crashed with millions of viewers tuned in.

11. One thing is for sure. We can't trust anything that liar says.

No one is perfect but when a pastor can lie with such ease, that is troubling.

16. not just ease but
calculation very troubling that a so-called man of God can do such a thing and have no trouble with conscience over it. :-(

12. It wasn't a literal coin toss silly...
it was a figurative coin toss - like it was a figurative cone of silence.

18. I just can't remember but
it was either CNN or MSNBC. I was really interested because I wanted to catch both the "debate" event and Phelps Olympic swim and took particular note of the appearance order. Maybe the network got it wrong but the whole thing is suspicious.
