SBVT and Dole: Atrocities are okay
That's what they're saying.

They are attacking Kerry for speaking the truth about what some US soldiers did.

Atrocities that are the same kind of thing the US denounced when done by Bosnian Serb forces against unarmed civilians.

Why do these people approve of atrocities when they are carried out by US forces?

Why are they apologists for atrocities?

Why are they saying it's wrong to criticize war crimes?

These are all questions that the media sould be vigorously pursuing!

1. Well
I think their argument is that the atrocities didn't actually occur (despite the historical record to the contrary). I mean they might very well agree that such crimes would be terrible if they occured, but would probably want to get back to saying that they didn't in fact occur.

Of course, in a bit of confusion of their story they would probably also bring up that it was war and that that apparently excuses such actions.

3. Atrocious Atrocities and the Atrocians Who Commit Them...
I think any vet who has a problem with these revelations might protest too much--many men did things in VN (and elsewhere) that they're not proud of. Booze & drugs probably played no small part, and soldiers are under intense stress, but those aren't mitigating factors when one has chosen to violate innocent people.

Alls I knows is Bush spit on at least one Veteran this year.

4. How could anyone possibly deny it happened?
Maybe it goes back to what Hume said...if reason is against a man the man will soon be against reason. If thought cannot rationalize desire into some semblance of logic, then desire, may as a last resort, deny the authority of thought altogether. In a life based on hopes that far out distances reason,it was to be expected for a man to invent a logic, not based in reason, that justifies their desires.

2. You would think they would despise soldiers who disgrace...
the American uniform instead of looking the other way. Then they want to say they hate us for our freedom???? Maybe they hate us cause our military and corporations behave very badly overseas...but no,it couldn't be that.
