Kerry's strategy is to portray Bush as a "negative" campaigner....
with no agenda for the future. He has to do it without the assistance of the media and in sequential steps. It is no easy task.

However, he knows the Republicans cannot be beat at their own game. They own the media. These latest SBVT ads should confirm that to everyone.

Over the course of the next few weeks, it will be imprinted on the minds of most voters just how "negative" the Bush campaign really is. Not just negative but ready to do anyhing to win. Whatever it takes. These latest ads are an indication of a desperate campaign that is behind in the polls and the days are quickly ticking off the calendar.

If the Kerry campaign does not overplay their hand, they have the strategy to beat the Bush regime. That strategy is to continue portraying Mr Bush as a "negative" candidate with no record to run on, just like he said on the Comedy Show last night, and to continue also to put out his positions on the issues. It s not a one-night strategy.

Kerry needs to SUE
He's got a great case for libel against Regenery. He needs to get a team of rabid lawyers onto those scumbags, let them dig up all the connections, let them handle the publicity.

That way, he keeps his hands perfectly clean while the Bush team gets outed for who and what they are. Besides, it may enable him to end up far richer than his wife.

3. The media seems to be letting *
paint the moveon ads as negative campaigning. What needs to be focused on is negative on policy vs personal attacks. The moveon ads are negative but what * has done is what is poor, bad economic policy, no plan for Iraq etc. That is what campaigning is about but they seem to be following *'s line that it is all negative. Even the moveon ad that questioned how he got into TANG is not a slander like the SBV's, there was a long list and he moved to the top, he didn't show up, legitimate questions he won't answer and not lies. Someone needs to make these distinctions.

5. That is why the Kerry campaign must continue to talk about the issues...

and remain positive. Once they allow themselves to be painted as the ones that are "negative", then that would spell trouble for the campaign. It's a delicate balance.

6. I've been making this argument with Repugs
for a while. How is it 'dirty politics', 'slander and negativity', and criticizing the ANG when you ask a question, it is not answered, and you ask it again?

4. Well, that may change after the RNC...
If Kerry challenged Bush, for example, on AWOL, the pukes would spend next week saying: "We present issues, Kerry presents smears".

As it is, expect riots in Central Park and the pukes blaming it on "Kerry's negative campaign". Also, expect the media to give this lie credibility with "attack clips" from Dean et. al.

But after the RNC, if the attacks continue, expect a different response from Kerry.

7. Bush's strategy is to always remain on the offensive....
Once the Swift Boat story simmers down, there will be another attack to defend. That's the way he works. The trick is to put him on the defensive. Otherwise, he lays back and lets others do his dirty work and comes out of his hole on occasion to reassure his followers that he is doing the job he was hired to do and doesn't really have time for this negative politicking stuff....
