Look out George, he's a comin' to get ya!

http://www.kwtx.com/home/headlines/968351.html

Former Democratic Senator Max Cleland, whose own Vietnam War wounds left him in a wheelchair, arrived in Waco late Wednesday morning carrying a letter signed by at least seven senators who are military veterans.

9. George peeks out through the curtains
while the SS (ironic initials, what?) flex-cuffs that dangerous radical Max Cleland to his wheelchair and takes him away.

10. this is a masterful political strategy
Masterful. My kudos to the person who had the idea.

I hope it happens more often. Take the fight to George while he's riding his bike or fishing in his pond on the pig farm.

24. "if one veteran's record is called into question, the service of ALL
American veterans is questioned."

Careful, George.....do you REALLY want to go near that can of worms?

Yup, cornering the Chimpster is a thing of beauty to watch!

"They're sending Cleland down here to the ranch??"

"Yeah, these fuckers are crazy."

"So, what should we do Karl?"

"Send Barney out to meet him..ha ha.. No seriously, send out a courier to get the message....You are too busy today to meet with him."

"Man, these guys are crazy!"...

12. If Bush is "unavailable", will Max say, "I'll wait?"
After all, Bush IS on vacation. He has SOME free time. Will he make a severely wounded veteran sit on the porch?

14. If Bush is smart
I realize that's a big if.

But, if he were, he would invite them in and patronize the hell out of them, take their letter and send them on their way as he tells the assembled media that someone needs to do something about those evil 527s.

15. According to Fox (take it for what it's worth)..
This is what * has in store for Cleland

Jerry Patterson, the Texas state land commissioner and a U.S. Marine who served in 1972-73, is greeting the duo and will be handing back to Cleland and Rassmann a letter for Kerry signed by Reps. Duncan Hunter, chairman of the House Armed Services Committee; Randy "Duke" Cunningham, R-Calif., who spent 21 years in the Navy and Sam Johnson, R-Texas, who spent 28 years in the Air Force. Also signing the letter are Robert O'Malley and James Fleming, who both received Medals of Honor for their service in the Marine Corps during Vietnam, retired Lt. Col. Richard Castle and Lt. Gen. Dave Palmer, a former superintendent at West Point. Officials said the two men will be invited into the staff compound at the president's ranch and offered a discussion with Palmer and Patterson.

26. Bush* gets the black eye
If he has to hide behind the drapes, so to speak. No matter why it's appropriate for others to receive Cleland and company, the shrub is now in the defensive posture. Kerry has turned his boat toward the enemy and chasing them up a tree.

And it's nice that Max has his day to rub it into the face of the one who wronged him. That alone makes this all worthwhile.

I hope that gets the headline.

Slimey coward cowering behind MORE veterans now, making Rassman and Cleland wait in the "staff quarters."

20. politically, Bush could have played this differently
he could have greeted Cleland and invited him in. Had he done that the media would have gushed about how "friendly and informal" the Chimp is.

25. yes...
...there's a smell of imperialism in the air that is unseemly for the leader of a democracy.

I wonder if Bush puts on a robe and crown and sits on a throne when he's at Crawford. (I know, I'm inviting all sorts of toilet jokes.)

21. This is about keeping the issue alive...
Doesn't matter what Bush does here...Kerry is actually trying to keep this issue alive. He senses, I think correctly that this is turning to his advantage. It may be keeping Bush's failures out of the news, but it is also going to drown out the news from the Repub convention.

no-man's land, and the Navy Seal with him. This chickenhawk who didn't even fulfill stateside Guard duty, and now lies about it, and lets Rove order the Pentagon to cover it up couldn't greet these two men with grace. I have no words, except maybe Magistrate's word, which DMM rarely uses -- that Bush BASTARD!
