TX Supreme Court candidate posts about Texans' enthusiasm to win!
Go Texas!

David Van Os posts at the blog about Howard Dean's 5 rallies in TX in 24 hours. It is a great post. Unfortunately Deutsch folks are posting the comments some ugly things about Castor.....so they are being ignored. That is sad they would spoil Van Os's post that way.

SNIP..."Governor Dean delivered five addresses in the space of 24 hours and was met repeatedly with thunderous Texas ovations from exuberant cheering crowds. It was also a special treat to hear three times from our awesome Texas Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, as she joined in Governor Dean's call to believe in our power as citizens to take back our country and our state.

Meeting Governor Dean this weekend was also a special thrill for my wife Rachel Barrios-Van Os, who was a regional coordinator for Latinos for Dean, who went to Iowa as a Dean's Texas Ranger last September, who went back to Iowa in January, and who saw the greatest speech of her life on caucus night in Des Moines as the people's candidate poured out his big heart in love and appreciation for his cheering supporters.

Texans love Howard Dean because he believes in us just as much as we believe in ourselves. Texans love Howard Dean because we are red-hot to take our country back. Texans love Howard Dean because are on fire to take our state back and he stands with us in our knowledge that we have the power to make it happen!"

1. "Texas Democrats are tired of being written off"
Over the years we had started to write ourselves off. We stopped winning races, we stopped running in a lot of places, we stopped believing we had a future. So it's no wonder that the national party started writing us off as well.

But something has changed in the last year or so. First the Killer D's went to Ardmore and broke the quorum in the Legislature rather than meekly accept Tom DeLay's gerrymandering of our congressional districts. First the Dean and later the Clark campaigns inspired thousands of activists young and old who rallied to candidates who spoke to core Democratic values. We have a new state chairman who vows that no longer will races go uncontested and a lot of new blood on the SDEC.

Democracy for Texas must be the roughest, toughest outfit in the new DFA. Together with other fighting Democrats we are taking our state back.

3. Dead-on, NoParasan
and that something (that changed) is Bushco. He said he'd be a uniter--and damned if he ain't. Dems are united like never before. I've been active in county politics in Coleman county for 25 years, county chair for 12, and this is the first time we've had a county campign HQ in those 25 years. I think like Admiral Yamaguchi at Pearl Harbor, the raw power-politics of the repubes has "awakened a sleeping giant."
