Kerry's Swift Boat Strategy...
Trying to conserve his Federal Election Funds until after the RNC, Kerry is using the Swift Boat ads as an opportunity to stay on the front page through August. Not only is Kerry conserving his money, his response to the Swift Boaters has all but shut down any ads that the Bush*/Cheney campaign is putting on the air.

Slowly Kerry is building his response like a crescendo. I think that he will continue to up the ante. Bush's* one dimensional response has doomed him to a corner, where he cannot maneuver. Look for this episode to draw voters to Kerry's side as he demonstrates leadership and courage. This is the kind of person that should be in charge of America.

Without getting violent (negative), Kerry has shown that he is capable of dealing with difficult issues by being thorough and thoughtful. I think that he has made a case for "sensitive" policy.

Thank you to the Swift Boaters for setting the table.

I think he should keep it alive myself: he didnt start it, he was slow to react ... but now: It is important for him to wring EVERY ounce of benefit from it ...

3. First thing that makes sense to me on Kerry's response.
While certainly one affect has been to avoid discussion of real issues, it has effectively neutralized any efforts by * et al to spend all their ill begotten $$.

4. I thought the same, but it was unintend .....
tradional the opposing party keeps a low profile during the other parties convention, but if Kerry has to defend his record now ... well, that's a bit of TV time

5. I thought I was the only one seeing this :-)
I am currently an enthusiastic Kerry supporter, but I was a Gorista before I was a Deaniac. My admiration for Kerry (both from his bio that I read up on in early January, and now, as I watch his campaign) is growing every day.

If this (Swift Liars, delayed and strategically-placed outrage) is all deliberate and not just incompetence (a sufficiently strategic plan could seem, till victory! just like incompetence), then I think Kerry is the man we want in charge of the country at such a tough time.

He studies the enemy (in office: problems) and charts a course unhurriedly but devastatingly effectively. I am savoring the campaign!

What is amazing is the Kerry pivot from the primary spin in the media as bush-bashing to a place where he is the one who is the victim of attack ads -- this sets the table for unifying the country fairly effectively, since even people who are likely to rally to Bush if he is perceived to be under attack, will feel less guilty backing Kerry against the big-bad Republican smear machine.

What other attack but on a person's war record can draw sustenance from the other camp???

Deelicious, this Kerry campaign!
