Poll question: If Obama picked Clinton would you support the ticket?
Obviously there are a lot of strong feelings on both sides of this one.

Personally, I think Bill's the issue, not Hillary. But I would happily vote for the ticket, if that's Obama's choice.

You?

38. I will indentify myself as a no
If he chooses Senator Clinton it will go against many of Obama platforms I support him for.
Specifically a stand against the status quo in political manipulation and washington machininations.
It would also be because of a capitulation to strong political forces that if he couldn't withstand at the beginning he definitely could not withstand for the duration and therefore would not be there working for the people, but the system he has already clarified and attacked for being out of touch with the constituents they represent

Whenever I read or hear something like that, I don't get angry. I get a very sad feeling. I hate the sound of people giving up. I guess what I'm saying is, I hope that however you feel, you'll express it with a vote on Nov. 4.

I got caught up in updating Tubbs Jones' condition here, so I saw more than usual and it was quite the train-wreck.

(There's an opportunistic grave-robbing post in GD saying that Hillary needs to make her delegates vote for Stephanie Tubbs Jones instead of Clinton to prove she doesn't seek the nomination. It's THAT bad.)

over McCain if she had been the nominee too. McCain scares the crap out of me. I don't want that man anywhere near any buttons. He seems like he's itching to fight, or rather let our young people fight. I don't want a man who doesn't know the difference between sunni and shia, AND has no real computer/internet experience to be president. If you need basic computer/internet skills to get a damned entry level job anywhere around.... don't you think it should be a prerequisite at this point? I could overlook those things i guess if the guy wasn't friggin nuts.

If we get one more neocon judge on the court then it'll be ready to effectively declare the US a police state that can jail anyone for any amount of time just for being an 'enemy combatant', or some other status they make up for prisoners who they don't want to ever be free again.

68. I'd vote for a Commodore Vic 20 with a Presidential
program written in basic running against McSurge on Bush/Cheney.

I'd happily vote Obama/Clinton. A year ago at this time I was already steeling myself to not only vote Clinton but do everything I could to elect her over any possible Republican.

No question, I'm way disappointed in Senator Clinton but she'd redeem herself quite a bit by helping to not throw the nation in the toilet. My opposition is more strategic than ideological or personal. Though, I have to say I'm rather pissed at her and it has little to do with Obama particularly. I feel she put the party in some compromising positions but whatever...Hell yes, a million times over.

Any Democrat not supporting whatever ticket we end up with deserves the privilege of digging their own grave since they willfully dig every one else's. Seriously, I'll be outraged but I'd still vote for Clinton even if she somehow got the nomination. McCain scares the crap out of me.
I'd vote for Darth Cheney over McCain head to head. That's how dire I see the situation.

72. Anyone who would oppose that ticket surely must be white, straight, male, and middle class
Except for the hard left, which would not support Obama anyway, it's hard to imagine any legitimate liberal not supporting Obama under almost any circumstance. The fundamental issue for many people is that if McCain gets elected, abortion rights, gay rights, and civil rights will come under further attack especially by the Supreme Court. In addition, the legal and economic rights of the poor will be further eroded.

Anyone who would oppose Obama for choosing Clinton as VP is acting out of irrational motives that have nothing to do with the welfare of our people or peace in Iraq.

75. I would place some big money that most of the 2 dozen "no" votes come from:
Those screaming loudest at the PUMA folks.

Sort of like the jealous asshole that accuses his wife of cheating is generally the one doing the cheating.

76. I'm not all that wild about Hillary as VP
but the people who voted that they wouldn't support that ticket just plain SUCK.

78. I'll support the ticket. But I think it's the weakest and worst ticket.
She has regularly undermined him and his message and the GOP is using even her words against him. That would be a bloody nightmare in the future. I can't, I can't handle it and I would fear if other things were done secretly that are let out later it would hurt Obama in the long run.

81. I'd vote for the ticket-

But it would end up being a vote AGAINST McCain instead of a vote FOR Obama and it would tear me up. I'm excited about being able to vote FOR someone instead of against someone else.

Edit: Whoops forgot to say I clicked yes I'd vote for Obama still.

82. I would vote for him if he selected
our incontinent dog who shits on our rug to run with him. Of course, I would have to hold my nose, but only because that dog has wrecked our rug.

83. Absolutely
Obama would have to put a neo-Nazi on the ticket for me to consider not supporting him.
