Do ya'll think that it would be useful to remind people of a certain jagoff named Phil Gramm?
Or is it a moot point since he had to resign? Given Prince McCain's latest comments I think it might have some relevance.

3. Phil Gramm is back on board so he can fight us whiners some more !!

Posted By susandavis On August 14, 2008 @ 5:21 pm In Campaign 2008 | Laura Meckler reports from Aspen, Colo., on the presidential race.

Ousted John McCain campaign co-chairman Phil Gramm is back with the campaign’s top advisers this weekend, as the campaign gathers top supporters for a series of briefings in scenic Aspen, Colo. The former Texas senator stepped down from his position after he said in an interview last month that the country is in a “mental recession” and that we had become a “nation of whiners.”

Asked what his role in the campaign is now, Gramm said in an interview, “I’m a supporter.” As for whether he continues to advise McCain, he said, “We’re friends. I haven’t stopped being his friend. If he asks me, I’d give it to him.” He added, “I’m not an official adviser.”

UPDATE: At a dinner this evening, Sen. McCain singled out Gramm, among others, for particular thanks. “Phil Gramm and I and Wendy (Gramm) and Cindy and I go back many, many years, and I’m always grateful to see my friend, Phil Gramm. Thank you, Phil, for all your friendship and support.”

After 14 years in Ohio it makes the whole experience even more enjoyable. There's also lots of "my people" here which doesn't hurt. Last winter made me reconsider for a minute though.

18. yes! I really think that the Obama campaign dropped the ball on the Gramm comment
why no ads of McCain gushing over Gramms' economic genius? Why nothing about the enron loophole...you don't even have to explain the enron loophole in detail, since enron is so synonymous with corporate greed. Also, we need to whip out the picture of Bush and McCain yucking it up during Hurricane Katrina with Bush....a Happy Birthday, Senator McCain ad, as someone suggested here recently.

21. yes
and if McCain wants to bring up the Bush/Cheney energy bill, we should bring up the "hell yes!" that McCain said when asked if he would like Cheney to serve in his administration some day.

22. It was OK for their people to bitch about Jim Johnson and Eric Holder
even though they had less relevance to Obama's campaign than Gramm did to McCain's. I say to Obama: "Smoke 'em if ya got 'em."
