You know something that will distract the media away from the convention. Oh say maybe a high level connection to the WH and the not so swifties.

These smears ads have been shown over many years to be effective BUT there is a point where you reach maxium effectivness. Then if they continue any longer they swing the other way and will actually cause much more backlash to the people who started them.
