Am I naive to believe that when all is said and done in November...
that the American people will not elect John McCain?

I look at this race and it makes no sense to think that McCain will be elected with the myriad of problems we're facing today. There is no logical reason for McCain to win. I firmly believe that the American people are sick and tired of the politics of fear that has been peddled the past 8 years. Which is the politics of John McCain.

Is that attitude silly naivete on my part?

1. All logic, reason, common sense, and rationality...
...show that Barack Obama is simply the best choice by orders of magnitude. John McCain, mental and emotional cripple that he is, shouldn't be able to win a seat on the council of a one-horse town. I would pick Obama over even the "best" GOP candidate. Over McCain? There isn't even a choice.

So, naturally, McCain will win. This is America, after all.

2. I'd like to believe that as well.
It would be easy to believe if the last two Presidential elections were on the up and up. But I've said it before and I'll say it again. The gop succeeded in getting * elected. By hook or by crook they did it, putting in office the worst man ever to have the title of POTUS. From here on out they're on easy street. They've expunged records, put their boys in a protective bubble so real people, not paid operatives or wealthy conservatives would have no contact with *. The hard work's already been done getting * in there.

5. There's no question that the majority of the voters will choose Obama
Only a question of how many of those votes get counted. :scared:

6. The voters just need a reason it's safe to vote Obama
and they'll break for him at the end in large numbers, as they did with Reagan, about whom voters were wary at first though they greatly wanted a change. IMHO, of course.

7. I thought the same thing in 2004.
I think we all did, but look what happened then.
