My pix of today's "Rally In The Valley" with John Edwards
Edited on Wed Aug-25-04 07:11 PM by JohnnyRingo
In Warren Ohio
It was a beautiful sunny day made better by the hope and optimism that flew into my hometown with our next vice president.

He ignited the crowd of 4000 plus with condemnation of the swift boat attacks before moving on to talk of the economy, a very real issue in the heart of the "rust belt".

Speaking of a "certain talk show host" that recently claimed that the economy was "booming", but some people can't tell because it isn't affecting them yet(Two Americas).

Next he drew cheers on the subject of health care by relating his family to our union base telling us: "His parents have health care, thanks to the union." "His brother, a card carrying IBEW member has health care."
Then my favorite line: "In recent years labor has gone from collective bargaining to collective begging." (good one, John).

Today the Mahoning Valley felt our first sense that Hope was truly on the way. Thank You John Edwards.

Welcome:

Hope Is On The Way:

Feel the Love:

Huge gathering of freeps across the streets. (What the hell is "Move on Vietnam"?)

Vote for the cowboy, not the hippie?!?!!

17. BTW .....that WAS all of them, thank goodness.

They didn't cause any disruption, only chanting "four more years" as JE entered the park.
They were gone before the end of the rally.

6. Vote for the Cowboy?

Holy cowshit. These people just concoct whatever fantastical delusions that give them cause to support the Dimson.

Cowboys are tough and as far as I know like to ride horses. Isn't Shrub scared of horses?

8. I wonder if that
gigantic woman holding the Veterans for Bush sign is actually a veteran. Somehow I doubt it.

10. Not sure, are nurses considered veterans?
I would hope so. In this case, it would make me puke, but she would be justified if she was a nurse in Vietnam.

Of course, she could have been in the early 80s . . .

11. Question - was there a flyover by a "fighter jet" sometime today?
I was in my office in Cleveland and all of a sudden, it was like I was in Israel. I looked out my window and thought I spotted a jet heading south like a bat outta hell . . .

20. No, I think that's next (Labor Day) weekend - All the years I've
worked at my current location, it has felt like a war zone in the week leading up to Labor Day weekend, and that's next weekend.

I'm sure they've been very concerned over the years about campaign finance law, right there with Bush.
