OH MY GOSH! I just saw the Cleland video

Max Cleland is the most awesome guy EVER! He never let up, never let the reporters get him riled up or off track. He was superb and sincere and simply amazing.

I have never felt so much like standing up and screaming "Yes! Give them hell!" until now. I have a huge lump in my throat because I am so proud that this man is a Democrat.

He just never let up. Max Cleland is so the man. He spoke the truth and never let himself be lowered to anger or name calling or anything. He just called a spade a spade.

This man is so awesome.

Max puts it all out there and the press really screws it up. The reporters were all whining and carping and Max just hit every thing they threw at him out of the park.

Cleland is an inspiration to soldiers. I saw many many troops down at FSH(Fort Sam Houston) missing limbs. The two most heartbreaking were these. One was a 22 year old female. Blonde, Blue eyes, and beautiful. And missing both legs above the knees. I spoke to her while i was taking a smoke break one day.....She rolled up, and asked if she could bum a smoke. I told her yes, and joked that those things were gonna kill her. She retorted with that since she wasnt much of a runner anymore, she smoked to keep her weight down.....She then said it was a shame she had to sit down all the time, because she had such a cute ass. I realized she was flirting with me. And let me tell you, if if werent for the wife, I would have taken her up on it. That is true heroic courage and strenghth. The other was a 29 year old male soldier. He had been burned over 80% of his body. His ears were gone, most of his nose, his hair. I had seen him, because the burn ward was on the same floor as the Lab. People were uncomfortable around him, because of his injuries. He was wearing a shirt that said"keep staring, I might do tricks!" I spoke to him. His young wife couldnt deal with the fact that her handsome husband was horribly disfigured, and left him. I spoke to him a lot. He was also a smoker, oddly enough. I quess once you have been through those experiences, lung cancer just stops seeming like a dire threat.

These soldiers, and Cleland are examples of the magnificence of the human spirit. They are true heros. Bush and Cheney are disrespecting their sacrifices by attacking veterans for partisan purposes.

I have said many times in here that I am no hero, and nobody special.

These soldiers I spoke about here are true heros. I am not in the same league as them.

Kerry respects honorable service, and wounds attained in battle. Bush doesnt respect anything except how much beer you can chug, how to eat pretzels without dying, and avoiding honorable service.
