Idea for Kerry on Getting Back to Issues and Slamming SBVFT
Great work, incidentally, today. Today was the first pro-Kerry day, admittedly, in a few weeks. The swifties are nowhere to be seen, and it is now an issue about how to run a campaign and decency.

I have an idea for some lines for Kerry to discredit SBVFT while tieing the discussion into Bush.

"There is a Republican group that has spent the last few weeks questioning my service in Vietnam.

They say I didn't bleed for my country.

None of them were there at the scene of battles that I fought in. I stand here with shrapnel in my body and with documents indicating that bullets have been removed from my body.

Where's the truth in their statements?

They say I was not under enemy fire.

None of them was on my boat. None of them was swimmming in desparation and anxiety wondering whether a boat would bring them to safety.

They make some interesting claims, but they were not on my boat.

And you wonder why President Bush had the wrong intelligence in Iraq. He hasn't had good intelligence for thirty years, apparently. And, sadly, these past few months have been too late for him to start.

3. I found this little nugget on democrats.com..
"Swift boat ads push GOP veteran into Kerry camp"

Ed Belfoure, who flew helicopters as a Marine in Vietnam, is a registered Republican. But he promises to cross party lines in November to vote for Democrat John Kerry for president.

Belfoure, of Washington, Pa., said yesterday he cannot abide the "despicable television ads" that donors to President Bush's campaign have aimed at Kerry.

A group calling itself Swift Boat Veterans for Truth has attacked Kerry's service record in Vietnam. Kerry received Silver and Bronze stars and three Purple Hearts in the war -- honors that Swift Boat Veterans for Truth say he did not deserve.

Belfoure, appearing yesterday with other veterans at a news conference at Kerry's Downtown Pittsburgh headquarters, called the ads slanderous and untruthful."

5. Another thing his campaign should say,
is that if twitboats for dubya had so many issues burning on their minds, why didn't they make a stink when the primaries were going on?
Or they could have expressed their "views" before the democratic convention. They made no real effort to prevent John Kerry from being nominated. It's smelled like a Rove payoff or blackmail scheme all along.
