Wow! Texas Republicans for Kerry!
Check out the latest on Grand Moff Texan's blog, Moment of Triumph:

See any funny signs here?

Well, Kerry did, and they aren't good signs for Bush and his wing of the Republican party. We can start talking that way, can't we? Like we've recycled the phrase "Republican sleaze" from the 1992 election?

(snip)

Claiming the mantle of "country before party,"
a group of Dallas Republicans today announced
the local formation of "Republicans for Kerry-Edwards."

Speaking for the group, co-organizers Paul von
Wupperfeld and Andy Smith said, "We have concluded
the current President no longer deserves the
loyalty of Republicans who support the traditional
Republican values of balanced budgets, prudent use
of a fully funded military, an economy with good jobs
for hard working Americans, reverence for equality
under the law, respect for the environment, and
government supervision of irresponsible business
practices."

"We have been loyal Republicans for many years,
but the policies of George W Bush have compelled
us to put the good of our country ahead of any party
loyalties," said Smith and Paul von Wupperfeld...

Country before party. I like that. Hell, that already described the left blogsphere. Outside the NDN, we're pretty much pissed off at the institutional Dem.'s. The DLC might as well be another button on the goddam Mighty Wurlitzer if ya ask me.

Furthermore, W. is not a conservative. Hell, I coulda told you that. Bush's puppeteers are old Texas Democrats. The Bush presidency is basically Texas Dem. corruption infecting the national GOP through people like DeLay, and then metastasizing through the rest of the damned country!

*********

Lurkers who consider themselves conservatives, DUers, citizens and friends: stop letting pundits and advertisements tell you what to think. Start talking about what's important. Let's purge the toxins from our national dialogue -- and what else is the United States of America but a never ending dialogue on freedom -- and move on to higher ground.

Texas Republicans for Kerry....that has such a wonderful sound.

4. It's going on without notice because our media is totally broken.
That's another thing we need to take on.

7. Maybe after all this we can have a real two-party system again
I mean the kind with good (upright, honest, cautious) Republicans and good (optimistic, generous, innovative) Democrats working together where it matters to keep the country on an even course and disagreeing politely at the edges over the competing virtues of stability and change.

It could happen. There's no lack of good people here. We just need to overcome the sleazeballs.

10. they do indeed have a website.
http://www.republicansforkerry04.com/index.shtml

A lot of what they are saying echoes my own sentiments. Plus, I have a son. I can't tell you how many times I've looked at his sweet face when I'm rocking him to sleep at night and thought of him going to war. It sickens me.
