*snicker*

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Sorry, can't help myself. I just read the story again and that is so...indescribably, gloriously asinine.

7. Yeah, that's cause I think the first part is better ;-)
First line conjures the image of this "He would not face me" puffery (ie., he was scared of me.)

Second line is the punchline "He kept rolling away from me." (Ah, he's in a WHEELCHAIR!)

Third line is kind of extraneous. Though I'll admit it makes a nice adjunct to the wheelchair being chased image.

I'm a novelist, can't help but edit. ;-)

8. From a distance, Dubya could be spotted
peering out from behind some shrubbery, snickering like a schoolboy at the sight of Cleland's "hot wheels".

4. Damn cripples!
They think everybody has to kowtow to them, just because they got a few limbs shot off in "combat." They WHEEL their little WHEELchairs and think they just sooooo big!

Good Lord, but these people have just no common sense or interpersonal skills at all.

10. "He's Quite mobile" ??? WTF did he think?
Edited on Thu Aug-26-04 12:14 AM by demwing2
I can just hear his inner dialogue as Cleland arrives: "I'll just snatch the letter out of his hands..oops, out of his HAND (snicker) and walk off! What's he gonna do, chase me?"

-and then-

"Hey Max, c'mere. Max! whoa, Max...Max! Dammit Max would you stop rolling all over the damn place? Max? Max??? Give me...jebuz all to hell...GIMMIE THAT LETTER, BOY!"

"Hell. Whatthe..here..gd..would somebdy stop him! Stop him!"

"Max?"

"MAX!"

"Damn! That boy is mo-bile...for a cripple."

***************************************************

Ultimately Cleland, even minus his limbs, is more man than Patterson can handle.

11. LOL, I think you have a pretty good grasp of his thoughts -- scary,

isn't it?

Bush* is a wimp for refusing to meet up with Max.
