Poll question: Time For An Objective Discussion About The Swift Boat Attacks
The first volley in the Swift Boat War goes to the attackers....As in every war that I can think of the attackers make initial gains...
However attacks are often repelled-World War 2, the Korean War, the Yom Kippur War, etcetera....

There have been three or four polls released since the Swift Boats attacks- the New York Times Poll, the IBD-TIPP Poll, and the LA Times poll come immediately to mind and all they show tightening in the race....

This was inevitable....

Kerry had two choices when the Swift Boaters attacked... He could ignore them and hope they whither away or he could confront them and by doing so give them more publicity...

IMHO, it looks like the blowback has begun... The lies and inconsistencies of the Swift Boaters have been exposed as well as their ties to Bushco....

We are at halftime....

I predict the Kerry people have already made the necessary adjustments and will turn around this issue and the polls to our favor....

Do you agree?

1. This Is My Take...
I have to assume the Kerry people know what they are doing....

If this is a loser they would be trying to kill it not keep it alive....

7. "uncaring fool" - that's funny. More like "emotionally retarded"
That idiot who duped a lot of people to get where he is is incapable of "caring". If he had a conscience or was even truly a Christian like he says he is, he couldn't live with himself after slaughtering thousands of people based on lies that CAME OUT OF HIS MOUTH. No, he is a coke-head drunk in recovery and this is why he has no real emotions. He is a danger to the free world and must be stopped before he destroys the planet.

4. Kerry must have been expecting this
He and Cahill are damned smart and savvy. No way this blindsided them. Just look at what happened today with Cleland and Rassmann showing up at Casa de Shrub. I have a feeling this will work to his advantage in the end. Read Tour of Duty...Kerry is more than willing to take the fight to the enemy.

8. not being pessimistic, I'm not...
...I think that Kerry's going to win by 53% to 46% (Nader 1%)... but I sure as hell hope it doesn't take as long for the public to grasp that these liars are right-wing-backed frauds as it did for them to figure out that Al-Qaeda was NOT linked to Saddam Hussein. 'Ol Public-At-Large tends to be kinda slow on the uptake, they're not even as swift as the Swifties. Makes me shiver at night.

11. yeah...
...I'll take that too! :)

But I was thinking of all the young new voters out there who are not represented in the polls. And hoping that they vote.

10. Headlines are all that count
The headlines have gradually been turning the corner, until today we get "Swift Boat Vet Lied"

When people see that there was a smear, and then that the person doing the smear is a liar...what do they think?

It's way too early to worry about polls, IMO.
