2. The GOP thought that they could fly this lie just like they have every

other whopper they've told (and gotten away with) over the years, and that they were sooooo damn powerful and slick that they'd get away with it. What they didn't realize, or stop to think about, was eventually they'd run into somebody who isn't afraid of of them, or who was maybe just as smart and gutsy, if not moreso, than they are. And now I'm sure they're sitting there wondering how they got into this mess, just like all the other messes they've gotten themselves into. Sadly, they are so incredibly petty, greedy, and grasping that they don't care what damage they do to this country, and the public, as they're pulling their shennanigans.
