Another Major GOP Tie to O’Neill SBVT Uncovered
-----------------------------------------------------------------

or
http://www.nytimes.com/2004/08/24/politics/campaign/24swift.html

Note: The following information is “buried” about half way down in the article

Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, (SBVT) in another indication of its web of ties to the Republican Party, acknowledged that a woman who helped set it up and works for it is an officer of the Majority Leader's Fund, a political action committee affiliated with the former House majority leader Dick Armey of Texas.

The name of the woman, Susan Arceneaux, (A) is given as the contact person on the post office box that Swift Boat Veterans for Truth lists as its address. She is treasurer of the (Republican) Majority Leader's Fund. (B)

(NOTE: Per SBVT IRS Form 8872 6/30/04 tax filing, Ms. Arceneaux received $7,500 from SBVT on May 4, 2004 for “compliance consulting” (A) (See Below for further details.)

Records show that like Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, the group receives significant financing from Bob Perry, a Texan who has long supported Mr. Bush, and his company, as well as Sam and Charles Wyly, prominent Texas Republican donors. Sam Wyly, under the name "Republicans for Clean Air,'' took out advertisements in 2000 criticizing the environmental record of Senator John McCain, Republican of Arizona.

Mr. Perry(B) has donated $200,000 to the Swift boat group, records show, and Merrie Spaeth, a Republican strategist who has been advising the Swift boat group, was a spokeswoman for Sam Wyly's advertising campaign in 2000. – (See below for further details)

###

PCS describes itself as "an accounting services vendor specializing in FEC regulations. Our comprehensive approach to your individual accounting needs will deliver you from the headaches and legal ramifications of FEC non-compliance." Interesting that all know PCS clients have strong Republican right-wing affiliations.

In May 2004, Swift Boat Veterans for Truth (SBVT) paid $7,500 to PCS for (FEC) "Compliance Consulting". Despite this fact, to-date their have been five (5) formal legal complaints filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) against SBVT for alleged FEC violations.

On its website, PCS claims that: "Our consultants and analysts are career experts in campaign and PAC accounting, finance, administration and compliance."

However, there is no discloser as to who exactly those consultants are, nor are there any employees shown for PCS, per public records of the State of Virginia. When this investigator called PCS’s phone number, all I/we received was an answering service who didn’t know when any PCS representatives would be in the office.
==========

(B) Majority Leader’s Fund (MLF) of former Republican House Majority Leader Dick Armey, R-Texas (Dallas).

Since 2000 inception the Fund has received $1,171,093 in contributions and total expenditures of $1,011,880.

Perry Homes, which is owned by Mr. Bob Perry, is MLF’s largest donor of $300,000.

Of interest MLF paid the National Republican Congressional Committee $105,000 and the National Republican Senatorial Committee $50,000

(C) More on Robert “Bob” J. Perry (Houston)
-----------------------------------------
Mr. Perry gave:
1..$200,000 to O’Neill’s SBVT organization,

2..$300,000 to the Majority Leader's Fund of Republican Dick Armey (Dallas)
....which was the Fund’s single largest donation since inception in 2000.
......VP Dick Cheney’s domestication address is Dallas, Texas
......Harlan Crow (son of Trammell Crow) (Both Dallas) donated $25,000 to O’Neill’s SBVT organization

3..$165,000 to Texans for a Republican Majority of Republican House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (Houston)
....Mr. Perry is the single largest private Texas donor to Tom DeLay and his interests.

Since 2000, Mr. Perry has donated approx. $5.2 million to Republican candidates and Republican political interests.

All the above individuals are legally (or illegally) “in bed” with each other (business/political interests) and have been for years. They just consider it “good ol’ boy Texas politics” nothing more, and none of it is illegal as far as they are concerned.

Tom DeLay has significant legal problems due to a major criminal grand jury investigation, (almost 100 subpoenas issued including DeLay’s daughter). Also the Federal investigators at Enron (Houston) accidentally uncovered documents that seriously and criminally incriminates Tom DeLay, certain donors, and certain Bush-Cheney-GOP members and related parties.

Enron was used for a Bush Family and Bush-Cheney-GOP front operation before it collapsed, which as been well documented by investigators. Further, Tom DeLay and Bob Perry are like Mutt and Jeff. “If one is around, the other cannot be that far away” accordingly to highly knowledgeable sources.

2. Does that title need a little editing??
"Another Major Bush-GOP Tie Discovered!!"

One would assume the GOP nominee would have substantial ties to the GOP, right?

3. i am facing arguments from rethugs saying the Kerry camp is guilty of the
same tactics with contributors like Sorros and others.

I just posted this same question in another post.

Can someone give me some ammunition to fire back.

4. Similarities and differences
I would say that there are similarities in the goals of each group and in where their funding is coming from. I would also say that it is no secret that some groups support Kerry and some support Bush, statements to the contrary notwithstanding. :)

The ads do not run in my area, to my knowledge, so I have only heard bits of some of them. The parts of the ads that I have heard from MoveOn sound more like the standard political ads that vary in the degree of "truth" employed depending on where you sit on the political spectrum. The ads from groups like the SwiftVets sound more like vicious attacks from a group with the solitary goal of whacking Kerry. Some of what I have heard goes far beyond political spin and travels well into the territory of slander and libel, even by political/public figure standards, and is not worthy of the protections given to your run of the mill attack ads. Serious charges call for serious proof, and if they want to continue their attacks, they had better be able to provide it.
