LA Times Poll: Here is evidence SWB ad's haven't impacted
Edited on Thu Aug-26-04 10:19 AM by xyboymil
John Kerry as much as the repukes would like to believe.

"Do you believe that John Kerry misrepresented his war record and does not deserve his war medals, or that John Kerry fought honorably and does deserve his war medals?"

Does Deserve: 58%

Does not Deserve: 18%

Havent heard enough: 5%

Unsure: 19%

"As you may know, John Kerry is a Vietnam veteran who earned several medals for combat. He also protested the war when he returned. Which statement comes closer to your view: In his combat missions in Vietnam, John Kerry demonstrated qualities America needs in a president. OR, By protesting the war in Vietnam, John Kerry demonstrated a judgment and belief that is inappropriate in a president."

Quality America Needs: 48%

Inappropriate: 37%

Unsure%: 11%

While we would love to see these numbers at 100% for Kerry, we have to take into account with all of the crap these swift boat liars have spewed in the last 3 weeks, this isn't the numbers they were looking for.

Relax people.

6 new polls including key battleground states of Michigan and Florida are going to be released today. When you look at polling data, the battleground states are going to mean much more and as others have posted, August is simply not going to mean much for either party.

1. Insufficient data
You'd have to know the previous poll numbers to determine "impact."

But then it's still just polling, so is meaningless, anyway.

2. My local National Pentagon Radio (NPR) affiliate
Spun this LA Times poll as exactly the opposite, due to the aggregate results which showed Bush with a statistically insignificant 3 pt. lead over Kerry.

This was spun as "SBV campaign having an effect".

That NPR affiliate is KPCC 89.3 FM (Pasadena Community College), in case anyone wants to call and ream them. I've gotten tired of doing it and simply will not donate any further funds to them.

3. What a totally bogus question

That is not an either/or question.

5. Maybe the effect has more to do with Kerry
being distracted from other issues and Bush getting a free ride for about three weeks, in part because of the Olympics.
