My theory: Olympics helping Bush, too

I haven't seen any posts on this, but I think the Olympics are giving Bush a lift because Iraq and the economy are temporarily out of the news. It's similar to what happened during the Reagan funeral. I suspect this is aiding Bush at least as much as the SBVT issue.

1. It's temporary

I mean yeah it is taking the pressure off in Iraq; and they'll get a bounce from the convention too. But reality will come crashing back after that.

I do think that the swift boat veterans may end up hurting him as much as it helps him. Particularly if the Kerry camp continues to make the obviuos point that President Bush likes these kinds of adds.

I really don't. I suppose someone must be watching them ...
