Cheney shows compassion to campaign questioner
Well...No he didn't.
But the woman's sad story almost brought GFY to tears over her company's struggle.

excerpt:

The question was heartfelt, emotional and extremely local.

Vice President Dick Cheney’s answer offered one of the critical differences between the tickets in this year’s presidential campaign.

A teary woman at Cheney’s Town Hall meeting Tuesday at the Davenport Radisson explained how her husband lost his job of 22 years at Marley Pump. The century-old Davenport maker of Red Jacket pumps downsized repeatedly until finally pulling out in 2001. “It’s been a rough five years,” she said, with her family relying on her salary alone. The question for the vice president: What can be done?

1. Not a word about healthcare
.
.
The family of a laid-off Quad-City factory worker extended a hand for help, and the vice president detailed relief for the factory owner.

3. How sleazy!
Dick truly is one!

Cheney responded in lock step with his party’s economic platform:

Tort reform to limit employers’ liability.
.
Permanent tax cuts to lower employers’ costs.
.
Regulatory relief to further lower employers’ costs.
.
Trade adjustment to protect companies from foreign competition.
.
Not a word about healthcare.

6. You Just Don't Get It!
all these reforms for the factory owner WILL help the worker. See, factories are moving overseas because the tax burden is too high here, the wages are too high, the companies have to comply with all these annoying and expensive health and safety regulations PLUS carry all this worker's comp & liability insurance in case some gets injured anyway.

Now, if we do away with the environmental, safety and health regulations, minimum wage, corporate income taxes and owner liability the factories won't move overseas and Americans won't be thrown out of work.

Conservative Economics 101.

8. Now that I think about it...That sounds just "crazy" enough to work !
...Maybe Smirk and Sneer need another four years to let the first round of tax cuts and corporate welfare take effect.

After all Ron Reagan's economic policies didn't begin to "kick in" until the Clinton years!

Hahahaha...(I understood your sarcasm)

7. Incredible lack of empathy...
After her heartfelt plea for help, he recites their policy to help the factories who are laying off people. Everyone knows that the corporations being "helped" aren't using the money to help the workers; they pocket the extra money to reflect higher profits.
