Kerry to take down ad featuring McCain
KERRY TO TAKE DOWN McCAIN AD: "We respect John McCain's wishes, and will stop running the ads of him challenging Bush to denounce the attacks on his service. It's long past time that George Bush also take John McCain's advice and do the right thing by putting an end to the smears and lies attacking John Kerry's military service. George Bush needs to say this is wrong, he needs to say it must end," said Kerry spokesperson David Wade.

Does McCain "respect our wishes" by refusing to stop campaigning for Bush until he condemns the ad? Why do we respect his on this same issue?

Can MoveOn continue to show this same ad, without the "I approve this message"?

3. The repukes would never do this
. . .even if the ad distorted or completely fabricated the truth. That speaks a lot for the Kerry campaign, but I fear we still would have gotten more mileage from continuing the ad.

4. Actually it may be a good idea.
They are showing respect for Mc Cain. And at some point the fierce fighting will turn alot of voters off. They will just quit listening.

10. McCain let it go for days before asking it to be pulled
I think that says something, and there's more here than meets the eye. Plus, McCain couldn't have this ad running while he's speaking at the RNC.

6. Hey, maybe if they stop running it,
it'll get the same kind of 24/7 media saturation the SwiftLiars ads got, right?

Yeah, right.

I'm guessing McCain asked Kerry personally to remove the ad because he was in it, and Kerry wants to respect his wishes. These guys have been in Washington together forever -- it proves Kerry's ethical. Whether it's wise or not, I don't know, but I'd rather know he wasn't an ass who didn't care what people he respected thought.

7. McCain USED to say he was never going to run for President again.
Now, he's saying:

Some have suggested that in backing the president so enthusiastically, Mr. McCain might be trying mend fences for a presidential run in 2008. On Wednesday, Mr. McCain dismissed the speculation.

Asked if he had ruled out a run, he rolled his eyes and sighed. "My favorite question,'' he said, sardonically. "I have not, quote, ruled it out. I certainly haven't considered ruling it in.''

It doesn't sound like he dismissed it to me...

8. Some of the pundits on CNN were talking about how the liberal 527's
are probably going to really start playing hardball now after the SBV ads and they are probably cutting some new ads.

All bets are off and I bet they wont pull them if Kerry asks anymore because he is trying to be decent and the other side couldn't care less about decency.
