Ban 527? Swift Liars will just be reborn as a PAC, they aren't going away!
Why does anyone think that getting rid of 527 groups will get rid of the Swift Boat Liars? If MoveOn has a PAC and a 501, then the right wing will do the same.

This group is not going away, they will just be reborn.

You can bet that if Bush is pushing to get rid of 527s, but not other types of groups, like PACs or 501s or whatever else is possible, it's because Democrats have a big advantage with 527s but not with the other types of groups.

What they are trying to try to do is get rid of our advantage in money, and then attack us even more without us being able to fight back as well.

That's probably the reason Bush isn't specifically condemning the Swift ads. Somehow he wants to get Kerry to agree to condemn 527 groups, without Bush ever specifically condemning the Swift Boat Lies.

Then, when the 527s are silenced, and the Democratic advantage is gone, the Swift Boat attacks will start in force under a different groups structure. The only difference will be that we will no longer have the funding to fight back.

This is a strategic plan by the Republicans. I hope Kerry's campaing is smart enough to see five moves ahead. Kerry already let the Swift Boat Liars kick his ass for two weeks without fighting back, let's hope they aren't about to make another big mistake.

seeing as he's the one signed the bill into law? And does he honestly think that Kerry is stupid enough to hand Bush ANOTHER reason to call HIM a flip-flopper?

2. 527s are not going away!
Bush and Kerry cannot agree to change federal election law.
