I said about the same thing you are saying a few weeks back. People are blind and are very easily misled (as we can see). We just can't allow it to happen and if it does, it may take that for people to SEE. They sure can't blame it on the democrats - - the repukes have it all!

15. Dont dare f***** quit
Edited on Thu Aug-26-04 02:16 PM by kwolf68
Absolutely NOT will we ever say, “Go ahead and elect Bush.”

This is what these right-wing hustlers do. They pound and pound us into submission until we aren’t left to fight anymore.

Remember the 1960s? They did that and when the passion still couldn’t be curtailed they murdered Bobby Kennedy and Dr. King. It is not a coincidence that after those murders the Liberal movement completely lost steam. These dirty shitz will stop at nothing, but we must NEVER quit. Too much blood has been shed.

These dirty pigs will do anything to advance their power and dreams of oligarchy and theocracy onto this world. They will use lies, distortions, propaganda and they have the most willing Conservative lackeys in all positions of power within the media, all the way from TV station owners to bloated wind-bags fanning the flames of anti-Liberal hatred and rage 24/7 on hate radio.

Quitting is what they f8**** want…because it means they don’t have to debate. It means no one (us) is there to check they putrid hypocrisy. It means carte’blanche on anything and everything.

I would not ever dream of asking John Kerry and John Edwards to just QUIT…so I’ll be damned if I am. I will keep pounding my friends with argument, keep sending emails to CNN, keep making phone calls, remain active and vigilant in our quest.

This isn’t a football game. This is the future of our entire fu(((( world at stake. We can ill afford to leave our children this place after a decade of being under the thumb of these corporate whores.

Democrats have ALWAYS been the bastard children. It was progressives who risked getting killed in defending freeing the slaves, it was progressive ideas that got Abe Lincoln and Dr King murder…It was progressives that fought to get our children out of the sweatshops…It was progressives who vehemently promoted the idea of women’s suffrage…it was US US US NOT THE FUCKING REPUBLICAN pigs who asked corporations to be TRUTHFUL with their products…to be respectful toward their employees…we have protected men, women, children, our environment (with an assist from Republicans in the past), our civility and our humanity…Without someone, ANYONE to stand up to these disgraceful charlatans then our nation is finished. Capoot…Done…Fine’…

I refuse to give up that easy. Screw the polls…Trust in the knowledge that we have the infinitely better candidate…and most importantly BETTER MAN. If you can’t trust that then you can trust nothing.

I need to clean it up. I was just typing from pure rage...Not at the poster, because I understand the frustrations, but at the thought...the mere idea we would sellout to these people.

The Conservative establishment in this nation is the most vile group of people this nation has seen in 50 years.

I may go clean up the post, add some stuff and put it in another thread...who knows....

I was there myself not long ago. But then I look at my sons, remember my g-father who fought in both world wars, my dad in Korea and many others and those you mentioned.... How can I give up on all of them and let them down because I'm sick of it, or I'm tired, or ? To give up would be selfish on my part.

That's why I love rants like yours because they fan the wanning ember in my heart into a huge bon-fire. Kinda like the Grinch when his heart grew ten times ;-) That's kinda how it feels and I love it :hi: Thanks:thumbsup:

Bobby Kennedy, Dr. King, President Kennedy and the COUNTLESS COUNTLESS activists now forgotten busted their ass for the greater good of this nation and we are their legacy...we must NOT let them down.

The page won't let me edit as the time has expired.

I copied it into word and have emailed it home. Sometimes I get a vision while driving and write crap down.

WHAT PEOPLE would you be handing this to? That post is certainly not a rallying cry for independents or moderates (and certainly not Republicans). It really was just a response to one of our fellow DUers who is closing in on apathy.

Other than that...Let me get home, work on it some and then I'll repost. The basic feeling will remain in tact and will change very little.

all the things the progressive has done for this nation. a wake up call. instead of seeing the dem party as those that interfer with people lives (like that isnt what repugs are doing) or to give all our money away (again what the regpugs are doing) but the neccessity of the progressive to go beyond slavery, opposed to greed, and to bring in the black voice instead of alienating it, to honor and allow woman instead of two steps behind, all the things we are proud as a country, is the progressive that did this. yes,.........it is relevant, and is a voice to be heard, by the moderate or the person that continues to see the dem party as a losing party

leave it as is. is just fine

38. Here it is again

---I still don't think its something you'd give to right-wingers...It's really a cheerleading cause for us Dems and Progressives/Liberals--- If you want to know what we've done for this nation?

Though I can find some value in what Democrats have given this nation. Democrats have championed Truth in Advertising Laws, Anti-Trust Laws, Civil Rights, Womens Suffrage, Food Safety Laws, Worker Safety Laws, Universal Public Education (the Morril Land Grant is a good example), TVA, Scientific Research, the Space Program, Environmental laws, Bank Deposit Insurance, Product Safety, CDC, and Disability laws just to name a few things. These initiatives that all Americans (including many self-professed neo-Cons) directly benefit from overcame stiff opposition from Republicans.

Now ... as for my post edited here it is. I decided not to repost as a new thread.

Much apathy has been on the board today with questionable poll results, but I implore us all…DO NOT QUIT.

Absolutely NOT shall we ever say, “Go ahead and elect Bush.” I do not mean to single out anyone, as I understand the frustration, however, we MUST NEVER give up and let these wretched demigods to continue perpetual control over the entire globe.

We continue to see our guy getting beaten down, our views trampled and our integrity ridiculed. This is what these right-wing hustlers do. They pound and pound us into submission until we don’t have the fight left to fight anymore.

Remember the 1960s? They did that and when the passion still couldn’t be curtailed they murdered Bobby Kennedy and Dr. King. Quitting is what they f****** want…because it means they don’t have to debate. It means no one (us) is there to check their putrid hypocrisy. It means Carte’ blanche on everyone, anything, and everything. It means no accountability for their destructive, selfish policies.

I would not ever dream of asking John Kerry and John Edwards to just QUIT…so I’ll be damned if I am. I will keep pounding my friends with argument, keep sending emails to CNN, and keep making phone calls, remain active and vigilant in this quest.

This isn’t a football game. This is the future of our entire world at stake. We can ill afford to leave our children this place after a decade of being under the thumb of these corporate whores. What will we tell our kids? We were just too tired, too frustrated, to apathetic to fight off the biggest corporate tyrannies not seen since the days of the robber barons?

Democrats have ALWAYS been the bastard children. It was progressives who risked getting killed in defending freeing the slaves, it was progressive ideas that got Abe Lincoln and Dr King murdered…It was progressives that fought to get our children out of the sweatshops…It was progressives who vehemently promoted the idea of women’s suffrage…it was US US US NOT THE FUCKING REPUBLICAN pigs who asked corporations to be TRUTHFUL with their products, to pay a fair wage and to quit exploiting anything and everything that moved…we have protected men, women, children, the aged, the disposed, the homeless, those without food or water, our environment, consumers, our civility and our humanity…Without someone, ANYONE to stand up to these disgraceful charlatans then our nation is finished.

Kaput…Done…Fine’…

We give up now and we can usher in a new era of Michael Milkins, book burnings, persecution of “undesirables”, S&L loan bailouts, poverty, war, pollution, more health care travesties, less corporate accountability, more off shore exporting of American jobs, more extinction of family farms, more greed, more corruption, more blood lust, more vengeance, ad nauseum.

I refuse to give up that easy and NO ONE on this board or in this great nation should ever give up. Screw the polls (though they still remain in our favor)…Trust in the knowledge that we have the infinitely better candidate…and most importantly THE BETTER MAN. If you can’t trust that then you can trust nothing.

Coz when Kerry wins, the RWWs will spend every second of every minute of every hour of every day stone-walling and blocking everything and anything he tries to accomplish.

They'll immediately start on their $ millions hunt to impeach him.

The RWW slime machine will grind on relentlessly.

And look at the bloody mess bush has left. Like the messes he's always left for others to clean up.

18. I understand some days it's too much
The despair takes hold, good people that can't see they are supporting bad. Some days you feel hopeless and others all you want to do is scream. All I can say is that tomorrow is another day. It's important to just know you did your best with what you've got. You did YOUR best. Then let it go and live the best you can. Giving up is not an option and you know that, anybody that has kids can't give up.

And that in the end (which may sometimes be too long to bear)good always triumphs over evil.

And that was the goddamn point of killing Dr. King, President Kennedy and Bobby Kennedy.

Bobby isn't murdered he is elected in 1968...He continues to usher in what progressives had fought for for decades. Bobby had a mission. Unlike Jack, Bobby came along when the philosophical lines had been drawn. While JFK was brilliant and could have been something special, it was Bobby Kennedy who may have held out the best hope. Instead we get that zombie freak as President, the right-wing think tanks mobilize, they begin an assault on the media and most Liberals and Dems were either too apathetic, conformed, or stoned to do anything about it.

When they woke from their slumber in the 1980s they found themselves in a Conservative hell awash in greed, hatred, violence and exploitation.

Bill Clinton put a slight hold on all that, but then obsession with male genitalia forced Dems to go scurrying back to the safety of conformity or worse (to the right).

24. If we re-elect Bush, there won't be much of a world left in 2008
This is serious stuff.

Given a lame-duck mandate, I honestly thing Bush is gonna help bring about Armageddon.

He'll want to go into Iran. When that isn't enough, look out North Korea.

The divide between rich and poor will be astronomical.

There will be more terrorist attacks on US soil.

Four more years of Bush is a total nightmare situation we don't want. If what I just wrote doesn't scare the hell out of you, enough to do all you can to help get Kerry in, then you'd better stick your head between your knees and kiss your ass goodbye.

Don't give up hope.

They think their god should be EVERYONE'S god. They think the poor should get out of their way. They think their version of history is the only right one. They think EVERYONE should be just like them.
