The Boss, Bon Jovi headed for Obama's acceptance speech at Invesco Field
The Jersey boys are coming, and we ain't talking about Frankie Valli. The Boss and Bon Jovi are ready to perform.

Multiple sources confirmed to the Rocky that Jon Bon Jovi will fly in to perform two acoustic songs before Sen. Barack Obama gives his acceptance speech at Invesco Field on Thursday. After the speech, Bruce Springsteen will close out the night, presumably solo acoustic (E Street Band member Nils Lofgren told the Rocky last week that the band wouldn't be with Springsteen in Denver).

1. I am waiting for the corporate media to claim that the crowd is only coming for the rock concert -
and will be sitting through the speeches just for the music.

:eyes:

2. Someone a bit more current would have been a smarter choice.
Its been a looong time since either of them were 'cool'.

5. lol. Says someone from NJ!!!

Gee. How can I disagree with such a well reasoned and unbiased response?
:sarcasm:

Try telling that any young twenty-somethings (who DONT live in NJ)... "Bon Jovi is cool"... and watch the reaction you get. How old are you anyway? Seriously question.

Still playing 3 hour plus shows at the age of 59.

11. Well, I went to a Springsteen Show in Hershey last week and saw a lot of people under 50
Including all those who I went with (none of whom are from NJ). And Soft Classic Rock? WTF??

12. Thats just how I personally would classify it.

13. Soft Classic rock? Radio Nowhere, Born To Run, The Rising, Last To Die??
Edited on Mon Aug-25-08 11:02 AM by godai
Obama plays The Rising regularly at his events eg Saturday when Biden was announced. Obama's under 50.
Anyway...Let's see who appears at the Repub convention.

7. Both continue to have
sold out concerts, and I'm betting it's not all old people in the stands. Some artists stay 'cool' forever.

10. Wasn't Joe Running For Vice President?
Actually I think that was '92, but he was hillarious, and damn, I mighta voted for him.

I hope there's another series of concerts this year like there were in 2004...the Boss, Bon Jovi, John Mellencamp, Moby, Eddie Veder, Melissa Etheridge, John Fogerty...and the list goes on. One side benefit of being a Democrat, we have the best music!!

Cheers...
