6. I don't want us to forget that it happened...
It's a reminder of what we're fighting against. I'm hoping to motivate us.

14. he could. no one will care. he has to save something for his
funer- ... the rep convention. (No one is going. No one likes a funeral.--a comment by a rep spokesman off camera) i would save it to help drown out the Ron Paul counter-convention and all the counter programming Obama has planned for their convention.

5. Yes of course he's low enough
to do just that. And I wouldn't be a bit surprised if he does it Thursday around 5:00 Central time. Just a couple of hours before The Speech.

11. It would take attention away from his VP pick...
But if he's planning on picking somebody like Lieberman, I think he could get alot of press from the irony.

8. I think the timing would be fine--for the Democrats. No one really cares
about them, they have no Veep field worth a damn.

9. No way, and it wouldn't be a "low" thing to do
It's be a STUPID thing to do because the announcement would get lost in teh Democratic PArty news. Most candidates want a bounce out of the announcement and he;d lose that bounce doing it during the other party's convention.

10. Possibly.
I'm becoming used to spite as being the defining characteristic of the current incarnation of the GOP. But stay tuned.

12. McCain is not in charge of his own campaign
If his Rovian campaign team thinks it would help, yes they would do it.

13. most people speculate
that he'll do it Friday or Saturday to try to snuff out any post-convention news for Obama. I heard he was going to choose Herbert Hoover until he found out he was dead.
