Dean tells cute story about the "swear box" for convention staffers.
National Journal has a story up called The Convention's CEO Has All Her Bases -- And Stadiums And Arenas -- Covered

Leah Daughtry has come under a lot of criticism from some liberal groups because she is an ordained pentecostal minister. She and Howard Dean seem to get along pretty well, and she certainly opened the meeting up to those who disagree with her. Credit for that.

Cute story.

Democratic National Committee Executive Director Tom McMahon, who attended the meeting, praised Daughtry and her team: "She hired a strong staff, and they were able to handle a late nominee and Invesco Field. And there hasn't been a hiccup in the operation."

After some phone calls and some prep time for her subsequent events, Daughtry made her way to the 38th floor of the Grand Hyatt for a Pinnacle Club brunch for parents of convention staff members. DNC Chairman Howard Dean assured the moms and dads that having an ordained Pentecostal minister as convention CEO "makes your kids much safer than they otherwise would be." Dean noted that Daughtry has a "swear box" by her desk for offending staffers. And the CEO piped up from a nearby seat that all proceeds go to a church.

"It must be a pretty fancy church," Dean quipped.

Dean joked again and teased her a little.

The equanimity that Daughtry exudes seems to put her in an uncommon state of grace for a convention chief. At one point during the parents' program, Dean was asked by a staffer's father what he worried about most at the convention. "The weather," Dean said, "but Leah's got that covered. There's a reason we picked a preacher to be CEO of the convention."

I see Dean turned the gavel over to Nancy Pelosi a few minutes ago.

I think we have quite a great party overall, the convention floor looks great. The evening looks good.

1. He should have taken it outside yesterday
All those people chanting "FUCK FAUX NEWS" would have paid for the entire convention!

3. I wish there was as much concern for lies and hypocrisy
as there is for a swear word. Howard's comment was cute though.
