5. Yes, 3 for 3 reports
All back the allegation that the swift boats *were* under fire.

4 for 4.
Don't forget about the separate after action report, as Barry reminded Matthews.

8. Yes but don't you realize
that these official "citations" mean nothing if the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth say otherwise? After all, they're for THE TRUTH.

9. Sandusky has spoken out before, but here's today's story
Del Sandusky:

<snip>

Del Sandusky . . . says his boat was jarred by an explosion, probably from a
rocket, knocking the soldier, Jim Rassmann, off the boat. Kerry was thrown
against the bulkhead, injuring his arm. Sandusky says he could see muzzle flashes
from the jungle and bullets skimming across the water. Sandusky says he can't
remember if anyone was still shooting when Kerry pulled Rassmann from the river,
but in any case, the boat was banged up and taking on water. An official report
made available to NEWSWEEK shows windows blown out and the engine and
steering damaged; it's unclear from the report when the damage happened.

21. But wait! There was firing a second before, and fire a second after...
But was there fire at the ACTUAL SECOND that Kerry went out on the bow to pull Rassman out of the water?

He could have run out there in the 30 seconds when there was no firing, and what's so brave about that, huh huh?

/sarcasm off

12. hahahahaha Chris Matthews just compared John O'Neill
to Jauvert, the self-righteous policeman who chased Jean Valjean for years in Les Miserable.

I'm willing to bet that it was lost on the FReepers.

18. You usually don't get to Les Miserables until about 11th grade
and most of the freepers dropped out after the eighth. I always thought of Ken Starr as Javert, but O'Neill fits, too.

23. I''m glad someone finally said how Hoffman got pissed at Brinkley's
book and that started the ball rolling.

They are saying you aren't supposed to brag and Kerry did but Kerry doesn't actually talk about any of the specifics or brag other than saying he served.

The stories came from his journal, not him yapping to others about what a hero he is.

MI don't wear rank or name on uniforms. But they were in charge.

This soldier saw no dogs used in abuse. But he did see other abuse.

how the soldiers on trial are at a terrible disadvantage because the military has all the power over their lives right now. So the soldiers makes whatever deal they can.

Edited on Thu Aug-26-04 06:25 PM by ItsMyParty
Saw this breaking this afternoon on MSNBC. But, I'm still looking for any of the cable news during their regular presentation of the news or network news report the Nixon tape thing. How come they are staying away from that and only having it appear on Aaron Brown, etc.??? And finally, if the reporters are swarming all over military records then when goddamn it is there going to be a real detailed tearing apart of Bush's record?? There is still a lot more to go on that--like finding out just what kind of 'activities' Mr. Drunk Coke Head was up to during that era and thus, more about his missed physical. Oh and why didn't this new found report make the network news tonight. They are just not putting the people straight on the developments.

Paddy Buchanan's going ballistic. His voice got very high--he's not happy with the truth.

We were laughing here almost as hard as Tweety was. Tweety had to work hard to maintain composure!
