Clinton Soap Opera, R.I.P.
One of the hardest-to-kill story lines of this convention has been about the Clintons: that they do not accept Barack Obama’s victory and that they are scheming to make trouble for his candidacy.

We have no doubt that defeat did not come easily to either of the Clintons — or that they kept fighting to the end. But we also saw this week that Hillary and Bill did not play the obstructionist role that critics were assigning to them.
Hillary Clinton did her part to bury the story Tuesday night with her stemwinder of a speech in support of Mr. Obama. Wednesday, Bill Clinton drove a dagger through it.

Mr. Clinton’s speech was first-class eloquence — the kind of charismatic presentation that carried him to the White House in 1992.

The speech did everything Mr. Obama could have hoped for.

1. Obama showing up at the end kind of put the whole story to rest
or so somebody said on Pacifica.. tonight's news will be Obaman/Biden, not Clinton/Clinton

2. 80% Media Manufactured
Someone really needs to be trailing the flow of Republican funds
through various media organizations and into individual pundit's bank accounts.
There are some folks on TV who are seriously on the take.

3. The MSM HATES the Clintons, and folks here eat with a spoon the RNC spin on the 90s.
ER: How unfortunate!
FDR: Indeed, hop in old girl, it's Denver or bust!

11. Oh yes! How is corporate media going to sell all that advertising and rake in the big bucks
unless they exaggerate any and all possible disputes between Clinton and Obama?

The corporate media needs the drama so they can make the advertising dollars. Follow the money.

26. Just like many were willing to believe the media lies about Obama.
Why try to bring down a nice thread about how the Clintons overcame the MSM lies about them?

What's the motive?

4. Am I'm the only person here who want to see these two walk off into the sunset.
Their time in the democratic spotlight is now over and they are hindering it's progress. Let someone else have it and move on.

I mean come one An African American being Nominated for POTUS happens everyday
but discussing at length whether Hill and Bill are happy about it
well that's definitely the most important story of this convention

10. They won't be walking off into the sunset. They're two of our party's strongest leaders.

Please stop bashing the Clintons. We need unity now. Rasmussen found that Bill Clinton had an 84% favorable rating with Democrats BEFORE tonight's speech -- probably higher now -- and Gallup found that more than 3/4 of Democrats would like to see Hillary run for president again someday.

The Clintons are not in any way "hindering" our party's progress. They're done a lot for the party for decades, and that will not change any time soon.

It's time for you to move on and stop refighting the primaries.

29. Great comment. . .you've hit the nail on the head.
only the very callowest of the callow youth supporting Obama want the Clintons to
"get lost."

Continuing to bash Hillary and her supporters is stupid and dangerous to party unity.
If this bashing continues, and Obama does not directly address this problem, he will lose.

Period. People are angry and that needs to be addressed.

Hillary has friends in the Congress, and Obama will need every one of those people to
carry out his agenda. Bill is still the BIG DOG, and if Obama is smart, he will seek
Bill's Counsel.

The Clintons only HELP the progress of the Democratic Party. Obama followers MUST stop the
bashing and infighting.

Remember, about 10 million of Clinton's supporters are still not decided. Obama must court and
win these people or he loses, plain and simple.

And that loss won't be Hillary's fault--it won't be Bill's. It will be Obama's for his stupid
and arrogant failure to rein in the so-called "enthusiasm" of his followers.

22. Hillary Clinton is going to be:
Either (a) the next democratic nominee for president -- if Obama should happen to fail.

or (b) one of the most accomplished and important Senators in a democratically controlled Senate -- if Obama should happen to succeed.

Her time is really just beginning. So no sunset for her for another decade or so.

And because Hillary will continue to be a power player, one way or the other, Bill will be right there with her.

24. You may not be the only person, but I think you are probably in the minority.
They are two very strong Democrats and will work hard to promote Democratic ideals. They are an asset to the party and, hopefully, will be for years to come.

28. What a silly statement. Even Obama said he needs their support. Get real and
lose the hate.

And Hillary HAS campaigned for him and she and bill will do so again and again.
If you think their time is the sun is gone, you are not well versed in politics.

27. It's time to call the MSM what they are: collaborators and accomplices.
The last shreds of non-biased, non-partisan journalism vanished in 2000. SEVEN major corporation control over 90% of the American main stream media, and those SEVEN corporations, are, for all practical purposes, propaganda organs of the corporate-controlled state. The vaunted "Fourth Estate" has become a fifth column. The interests of the citizens of this great country are no longer paramount. It is now corporate profits and shareholder value. And the American corporatocracy will lie, cheat, steal and MURDER to maintain their balance sheets.

Wake Up, America!:kick:We Can Do Better!

31. I think it's shameful
that the 1st thing a few people think about after what you've just witnessed is bashing our own team and trying to take some of our strongest pieces off the board.

I also think it's shameful that some are still leveraging their votes based on idiots and emotional younglings behavior, when it should be beyond crystal clear that are challenges to large and too much at stake for reactionary emotionalism.
