McCain finally releases much-hyped ad of McCain directly talking to Obama
Guess he's trying to look "Maverick-y."

Congratulations, Obama! Tomorrow, we'll get right back to calling you a celebrity. In fact, we might even step on your historic speech tonight with a yawn-worthy announcement of our Veep pick. :-)

1. Lighting is horrible, and they show the bad side of his face so prominently.
Weird.

2. That was actually kinda nice.
I know it wasn't altruistic and there is a method to their madness, but the end result was nice.

24. I understand it's strategy -
but the message comes across as 'nice' to those who don't really 'know' him. That's all

You don't have to convince me of anything.

30. I understand, but the "regular viewer" will see it and maybe gain new respect for him.
They're not as bright as we are. :)

40. That's obvious --
as when I heard someone saying the other day that they were in worse financial shape than they'd ever been in their lives, so they were going to vote for McCain. WTF?

Not only are they not as bright as we are, some of them are really, really stupid. :eyes:

25. Obama's surrogates should play hardball and ask him why he voted against making MLK Day a
national holiday!

16. It's airing for one night. And no one will see it because they'll be watching Obama.
This is a token gesture just so that McCain can go and say that he said something nice while all the mean old Democrats were attacking him at the convention!

And talk endlessly how Obama is attacking and McCain is playing nice.

3. It's an excercise in "Bad Lighting 101"
Of course with McCain's grotesque facial issues, it was probably a good idea.

4. They already showed it on MSNBC. "He's a classy guy" was a Dem.'s comment...
He makes me sick pretending he DOES respect him one day and claiming he puts himself before his country the next. And his people are being sent to Denver in togas. :puke:

8. ."...on this historic day."..
But he doesn't say why today is historic. I guess the name Martin Luther King, Jr. sticks in his craw considering his opposition to the MLK Day holiday. What a hypocrite.

12. What a pathetic bastard
What was the REAL intent of this message? My first thought was "Congrats on being the first African American to be nominated"...wink...wink....ya'll do realize this dude is about to get in the white house..you better get to the polls quick and in hurry to vote for me.

I know I'm being cynical but I don't think anything positive can come out of his campaign at this point.
