Bobby's death is my first complete vivid memory because it happened on my 6th birthday. A very emotional time for everyone and they kept apologizing to me for bursting into tears at various intervals.

13. They buried his brother the day before my 8th birthday.

They sent us all home, the principal came into the room and quietly told us he had been shot.

When I got home, my stepdad had come home from work. The mill he worked in shut down for the day.

This is the tide turning. A tsunami of hope, maybe? :D
