1. I knew the content of his character on October 2, 2002
when I first heard him speak in Chicago's Federal Plaza. Here was a guy saying he wasn't against ALL wars, just dumb wars.

I turned to the guy next to me who seemed like he knew what's what and asked him, "Who's this guy?"

"Barack Obama, he's a state Senator" he replied.

"He should be president!" I exclaimed.
