Neocon, Right Wing, Conservative, Christian, Right to Life ditto heads tomorrow night. It is not a political party, it is several Christian men that play poker.
BUT: I am prepared!
I know the only reason they vote for repubs, is because they believe the crap that has been put in their heads by the moral minority.
I think I can at least make a few of them think about it.

I have printed several cards with the Christian President piece that was posted here a couple of weeks ago.
When they start their political rhetoric, and they will, I will hand each and everyone of them one of these cards.
I will keep my cool and just answer their bunk with fact. I am getting good at this.
I went to one of these guys parties last fall
I will probably get asked to leave early, but you never know, and someone has to debate these educate these poor people.
God knows the GOP is going to tell them the truth.

I will report here how things went. (may be Sunday or Monday depending on what the wife wants to do).

I have learned to debate with idiots with out blowing up, that is a big deal for me, I work with a lot of idiots and they work hard to make my job hard.
This debating thing and knowing the facts going in, I have learned a lot.

If you find they won't let you get a word in edgewise, once they realize you've got points to make.

What they can't say undisputed they say repeatedly. When one thing is countered they spew 1 half truth amongst 10 falsehoods. When that fails they attack en masse and raise the volume. If there is still an opposing viewpoint, they invoke Clinton.

It's what I've heard from every RW radio talk show host and ditto head I've ever heard. Invoking Clinton indicates their tank is dry. Save a few zingers for that moment.

Thanks, I am aware of those tactics.
They always end with Clinton and I have some good points for that one too.
Debated a guy today about the economy and he finally got back to it was Clinton's fault. I pointed several things out to him that he could not argue.
This should be interesting at the least.

12. Hindsight, actually.

Things I typically think of after the fact, I'm a horrid real time debater. :P

I'm terribly conflict averse. So I either clam up and don't express myself, or I get grim and surly and nearly bite off heads. I've yet to find a happy middle ground. I'm much happier with text discussions, where I can think, rethink, and rephrase things.

What is really hard is when you are at a campaign rally and you turn around and there is a camera in your face and a reporter asking if they can ask you questions. That is a real freeze!
