The public's belief that Kerry did not earn his medals grew to 30 percent when the attack ads got widespread publicity on cable news networks. But that number has dropped to 24 percent now.

2. Good news, bad news

Of course this is good news, but isn't it depressing that peopple are that gullible? Is there anything they won't fall for?

3. and more people are realizing it's Bush

a significant number of people believed Bush, gave Bush the benefit of the doubt, TRUSTED Bush, but now realize that he LIED IN THEIR FACES.

And this number is going to grow.

So when he speaks at the convention, they'll listen to him as they would a liar.


In polling from Monday through Thursday, 46 percent said they believed the Bush campaign was behind the ads and 37 percent said they thought the ads were done independently.

The president and his campaign staff have said repeatedly they have no connection to the ads, which have come under increasing criticism as Navy records and additional witnesses backed Kerry's version of events.

On Monday and Tuesday when the Kerry campaign was making the accusation Bush was involved, 42 percent said the Bush campaign was behind them and 41 percent said they were truly independent.

After Ginsberg resigned from the campaign on Wednesday, 50 percent said in polling the next two nights that the Bush campaign was connected to the ads and 34 percent said it was not.

that won't go any lower...but the fact that swing voters generally dont't believe the story or the voer story is helpful... It does not translate int votes nevessarly..but its a nail in the right direction.

Ad this to the spy story and bush get no bump out of the RNC.

As the article notes --

On Mon - Tues 42% believed * was responsible. To get to the full (Mon - Thurs) total of 46%, that means a MAJORITY of those polled most recently (Wed - Thurs) believed that to be the case.

Damn good news! The tide turns. And there's certainly more "hand in the cookie jar" evidence out there that will soon surface.
