Reading the paper today I felt real optimism
Of course, then I log onto DU and have to fight off all the doom and gloom.

First, the big local paper endorsed Kerry. It backed * in 2000.

Second, there was one prominent AP story about how Lambert (who was there the day Kerry earned his bronze star) backed Kerry's version of events. Lambert is very credible, he even admits he probably won't vote Kerry, but he wanted to speak up and tell the truth.

Third, there was another story about how a lot of veterans (non-wingnut ones of course) are getting sick of the SBVT, and how they want the campaign to move onto real issues.

Not everyone is an internet political junkie like us. I think the news most people got in their local papers today was on balance good for our side.

2. I think you're right, Rumguy.
Plus, I don't believe the polls we are seeing now reflect the massive recanting of
the Swift Boat Load tripe. I don't think that has had time to take effect.

People are not going to forget Iraq and the job they lost and the utter shiftyness
of Bushco over the last four years.

3. Perked me back up! I was feeling a little freaked out about the media
and all the stories about dubya being up in the polls.
It is hard not to listen to the poll numbers even know I know they are bunk.
Thanks again.

4. Just keep keeping on the positive side..
I love this news you're giving us.

But How can this Lambert dude..tell the truth and ..you say Not vote for Kerry..does that mean he's voting for bush? Talk about party before Country!

And what is the "big local paper"..I just read on du but didn't get the details yet that "The Seattle Times" has endorsed Kerry! I thought they were repukers?
