2. I don't think she was. This was a pick to get a headline after
a great DNC. They may be in for some surprises.

9. McCain has lost it
Edited on Fri Aug-29-08 03:57 PM by Azathoth
The GOP is trying to put a brave public face on this fiasco, but behind the scenes I'm willing to bet most of the party is in a state of utter disbelief. Only the fringe looneytoon dittoheads are genuinely excited about this.

10. The Palin pick is all about the oil, Stupid
For the last 3 months, congressional Republicons have been pursuing a legislative strategy of "all oil,all the time". Palin is all over the cable stations talking about ANWR, and slamming the Democrats for blocking drilling. McCain didn't pick her. The party bosses did, acting as the political arm of big oil. She's Dick Cheney's replacement. An oil inustry tool at the very top of the next Republicon administration. If anyone doubts who the GOP represent, this pick spells it out in letters a mile high.

13. His top choice bailed on him last night...
It's the only scenario that makes any sense.

He had it out there that he would announce today and was stuck. He had to come up with someone.
