Why Palin's gender matters...
It matters because McCain picked her solely because of her gender. Why is this true? There are plenty of well accomplished, experienced women in leadership roles. Kay Bailey Hutchison. Condi Rice. Fiorino. Yet McCain chose none of these women. Why not? Why did McCain choose a woman from a far away place, a woman who had very little experience, a woman who supports policies most women hate in this country, a woman with a shadow of corruption and ethics violations? I'm trying to figure this out, and all I can figure is that it is because Palin is a woman. McCain is making a shameless play for PUMAS and low information women voters. Every person, man or woman, should be disgusted McCain's pimping of a woman for personal gain.

Women, tell me, is this what you fought for? Did you struggle against a man's world to see a woman who will set the entire country back by 30 years be elected VP? How do you feel about your gender being used as a token to win the White House?

2. The question is, why did he pick a woman with NO experience versus those you mentioned with it?
Although Fiorino would have been eaten alive had people found out her past in regards to workers rights.

3. Setting up an environment of low expectations (as was done for Bush)

As Palin herself said (overhead on TV during lunch): "I mean, gosh, I'm just an average hockey mom from Alaska!"
