1. CBS is already down playing the importance of the spy. Just
a secretary who set up a few meetings. The shrub's gang got to them already and this story will be over before the Sunday talk shows.

2. TV and radio is how the undecided swing voters are learning about Kerry
and the picture they see isn't good. But if his appearance on the Daily Show and sending Max Cleland to Crawford are any indication, I think Kerry has finally learned his lessonm LOL!

5. John Kerry is beholden to John McCain for reasons I'll never know.
Kerry is weakling! I don't give a damn about what John McCain says, Kerry was wrong to pull that ad!

6. WTF are you talking about?
Kerry is a man of respect. McCain asked him to remove the ad. He did. I would hope that you vote for Kerry, but before you call him a weakling, you should be looking in the mirror. So ready to jump ship huh?

8. Don't smear me! I am voting for Kerry.
Why should he respect McCain when McCain is shilling for Bush?

If McCain wants to put his Ideology before his "freindship" with Kerry then Kerry MUST put his Reputation before his "freindship" with McCain.

9. Nobody is smearing you. Have some faith in our candidate.
Give him the benefit of doubt. He's been in pubic office for 20 years for a reason. He's got the entire democratic party UNIFIED behind him, which is unprecedented in modern political history.

Goodnight folks past my bedtime.

10. Do you really think their situation is this black and white?
Edited on Sat Aug-28-04 12:06 AM by NightOwwl
Our knowledge of the intricate relationship between McCain and Kerry is zero. If a complete stranger approached you and started telling you how to treat your family and friends, would you turn your life over to him?

7. We don't need another nominee - Senator John Kerry
will be the 44th President of the USofA - Sorry that they are doing things the way you want, but they are running a campaign for the long haul, as Dem_strategist said, they are playing chess, not checkers. They are doing a wonderful job.

11. Calm down
McCain is his friend and he respects his opinion. Sure it was a good ad but you have to respect for people. Bush doesn't. Kerry does. Do you want him to stoop to AWOL's level?

12. Kerry WANTED McCain to ask him to pull that ad--that's why he ran it!
Edited on Sat Aug-28-04 12:24 AM by rocknation
That ad was never meant to part of the campaign. Its purposes were to:

a) make McCain look like a mega-flipflopper at best and an unstable idiot at worst;

b) make Bush look like a pyschotic lowlife who stops at nothing to get his way (including being "friends" with McCain though he'd slimed him); and

c) make Kerry look classier than Bush because he pulled the ad out of the goodness of his heart. Bush, meanwhile, has stated that he believes that Kerry is not lying about his military record, yet he won't say whether or not he believes the Smear-Boaters. Is that because the Bush campaign illegally assisted them? And isn't it time that BUSH's military record was put under a microscope? The door is now open for Kerry to ask these questions without appearing to "stoop to their level," which should make for a very interesting next two months.
