Chris Matthews Blasts Bush-Cheney on Bill Mahers HBO Show
Email Received:

Wow, if you missed this watch the repeat.

Chris made the point that if you can't make up your mind about Bush/Kerry, think about the direction you want the country to go in for the next 10 to 20 year. I am paraphrasing here--

If you want the same diseases we have now, vote Republican.

Kerry will be hesitant before he goes into war, he may even listen to the French. Blair will be gone soon, so will Musharif, then we will be truly alone in the world.

If you want the assult to continue on the middle class, you know what party to vote for.

How can anyone be undesided about these two who have such radically different views.

Does anyone know how to find a transcript?

1. Anyone who has doubts about Tweety turnng over a new leaf
should see him in this role. It explains his recent behavior very nicely.

2. i think we are interpreting the health comment wrong
he told a handful of ways the country would be bad if repug stayed in, and finally gave a reason to have repug. they notoriously allow healthcare industry to keep money for research. why they are allowed their outragous profit is to put back into company for research. i think he was saying if you want the same diseases 20 years from now, hire a dem. syaing you could find arguement for both sides, but there is certainly a difference.

then again, with the repug taking the christian approach to science, and walking back in time with science, i guess there is now a stronger arguement that science is being repressed and there wont be the exploration in areas that can do something for some diseases

5. I took it the opposite
I thought he was saying if you want the same diseases stay the course cause republicans are not going to allow the research (stem cell).

6. Since the US Government provides MUCH more funding for research
into diseases and GRANTS TO PHARMACEUTICAL companies than do private companies, Tweety should know better than to buy the very lame and phony argument about the need for outrageous profits.

3. I guess we should be grateful to the RNC for hurting his feelings
Edited on Sat Aug-28-04 09:58 AM by rocknation
by running an edited a video of his asking Kerry a question. If they'd edited the answer but not the question, however, I'd suspect he would be Tweety as usual.

8. What the RNC did was dishonest and Tweety called them on it
He put the video up on the Hardball website in its entirety to show how Kerry had been quoted out of context. Had to do with Bush ragging on Kerry that he was the *anti-war candidate* and flip-flopped. See for yourself what the RNC did.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/5727982/

AND, when Tweety called them on it, the RNC pouted like the girly men they are and blackballed the show.

14. Both the question and the answer were edited
Which, unlike the Smear-Boat Liars For Bush, I actually eyewitnessed--and you can, too.

9. I think I heard him dis Faux News and Repukes who watch it
making an analogy between them and the movie "Carnal Knowledge" when the Jack Nicholson character goes crazy when his routine is altered - Tweet said it's just like the Faux News watchers, they want it the same, day after day after day without any diviation. Someone help me here, did I hear that right, or was I dreaming?

11. he was responding to Bill's
question as to why reporters don't ask the hard questions or follow up questions. He did say because they (I assume they is the audience)want it the same day after day. He was dissing other reporters, news media outlets, and uneducated audiences who listen to said media. So that applies to Fox.

It was a great show, I laughed so hard last night. Even at Bill's over the top message to the protestors.

I really lost all respect for CM during the Clinton impeachment. Maybe he is trying to make amends.

22. Great Point - What Happens When Blair Steps Down?
I think that will be an effective question to pose to the general public.

Another one that always struck me: Who would you want negotiating between Pakistan and India during a nuclear standoff? It nearly happened under Bush's watch.

And, again, who do you think would run the war on terror more competently?
