The mission of GW Bush -I am watching it right now on CNNI
Okay, I missed the beginning. Started watching from the 911 part...

On the objective journalism scale, where 1 is absolute Bush whoring and 10 is onjective journalism I give it a 6.

Some quite damaging images and comment. Mission accomplished, scenes from Iraq with wounded american soldiers, Iraq has nuclear weapons speeches, followed by a comment from some journalist I think who said "you can't run a foreign policy asserting a worst case scenario as a fact".

Right now a segment about Bush's background. Nothing interesting. Nothing on the economy sofar.

2. this segment is "Bush and religion"
Quite comical. They showed sofar something like 100 images and 10 videos of Bush praying. Still nothing about the economy.

You would think someone would ask the question, "Are Bush's evangelical christian beliefs a threat to our national security?" Maybe he thinks letting Israeli spies have access to our security secrets will help bring Jesus back? Is he trying to bring on Armaggdon? Does he believe in the rapture? Rebuilding the temple of Solomon? We know the rest of them do. What about him? i think it's time to ask him what he believes exactly.

5. Next segment - the vision for the next 4 years
Keeping america safer... His speechwriter saying he had to deal with healthcare and education but then 911 came (excuses)... He truly believes he was chosen by God and the legacy will be provided by God's intend...

Segment over, still nothing about the economy.

7. Okay, it is over
When I think of it I didn't understand what Bush's mission is....

Really, when your title is "the mission of someone" you have to tell what his mission is. Not in that case.

Not a word about economy, jobs, health care... All I understood is "I will keep America safer" and "No more frivolous lawsuits" as if this is America's biggest problem.

Much less whoring than expected and if some undecided voters see it, they might actually decide not to vote for him.

Thinking about what I saw again - the documenary summed up Bush for what he is. No accomplishments presented as well as no vision for the future presented. Just empty rhetoric.

My final mark is 6 or 7. This movie will do him damage rather than any good.

9. excellent thank you for sharing
like how you summed it up. cool. and maybe we can start bringing the fear back of bush = jesus in his mind and his followers, sheep. he hasnt been sitting in that of late, but thinking from what i hear they are creating for him at the comvention center, sounds like a podium, a podium that reaches to heaven, above all the followers down bellow, shinign a lite down on him, lol lol the image. maybe he is going to bring back more the saintly preachin george that really started scary the moderate religions and the world.

13. Thanks for keeping
those of us who refuse to watch CNN informed. I'm sure you're right that the special was not as bad as some of the out and out propagands they've been doing lately, but do you really think that uninformed viewers will feel the same? I guess what I'm asking is, did you see parts of it as negative because you are well informed and knew the background of what they were discussing? Just curious. Glad to hear it wasn't a total whitewash of *.

15. We blasted CNN all the way to the top after the Kerry hitjob...
Edited on Sat Aug-28-04 08:33 PM by DeepModem Mom
"Born to Run." I don't know why I even bring up this possibility, but the ads for "Mission" don't seem to match what was shown -- could they have altered the original, having second thoughts about doing a Candy Crowley hitjob on Kerry, which didn't slip by unnoticed, followed by an unpaid campaign commercial for Bush? Nothing else they are doing, of course, indicates any concern about unbiased coverage --
