Meet at the old Service Merchandise parking lot
behind University Mall in Pensacola for a kick-off rally
featuring speaker Jerry Holt - Chairman, Panhandle For Kerry

As you probably know, Monday, August 30th is the first night of the Republican Convention. Well, your local Democrats in South Alabama and Northwest Florida are planning a party of our own!

Starting with a kick-off rally in Pensacola featuring speaker Jerry Holt - Chairman of Panhandle For Kerry - the "Kerry-Van" will be an all-day celebration of our democratic ideals road-trip style - an impressive caravan of cars, all decorated with campaign materials, traveling en masse from Pensacola to Mobile with stops along the way in Baldwin County to highlight speakers promoting Kerry’s education platform. A Mobile radio station will broadcast the Kerry-Van's whereabouts throughout the day as the cars roll on and local party leaders give commentary at stump stops. The event will end at the Mobile County Democratic Headquarters (intersection of BelAir Blvd and Cottage Hill Rd in Mobile) with a cook-out, music, and a keynote speech by past NEA President Helen Bain.

Come out and join the Kerry-Van for all or part of the trip. In a region that underestimates the strength and numbers of Kerry supporters, this event is crucial to underscoring our visibility. We need all the cars and drivers we can get. It’s time to show our region exactly who we are and how proud all of us are to support John Kerry as the next President of the United States!
