Eureka!!!! Real evidence of new voter registration from Wash. Post
I finally found some information that confirms my suspicion that newly registered voters are going to turn this close election into a landslide for Kerry. Buried in this Washington Post article http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A39959-2004Aug27.html:

"Karl Rove, White House senior political adviser, said he believes "the wind is at our back" in Florida because of the redoubled registration efforts. Bush-Cheney officials had been surprised to see state figures showing that Democrats had registered more new voters than Republicans had each month through the spring. From December through June, Democrats had registered 129,000 voters, compared with 75,000 for the Republicans."

over our poor country.

2. I don't believe in God.
But hey, a prayer isn't going to hurt anyone.

3. It is REALLY encouraging that there was this disparity....
in such a dead-even state. I really have to assume that this is happening all over. Again, this gives fuel to my suspicion that the polls are way off.

4. What Karl ment was redoubled intimidation efforts to suppress the
African American vote. The NYT's has covered this recently. But... where is the fucking Whore for Bu$h CNN etc media on these issues?

6. Did you see the new MoveOn ad?
I'm actually very glad that "they" are attempting to suppress the black vote.

I think that it taps perfectly into some pretty visceral emotions in the Black community. These fascist attempts by Jeb et. al are going to be another in a long line of miscalculations that blow up in King *'s face. Mark my word. The black vote (along with the young vote) is going to turn out in record numbers.

5. The wind is at the republican backs? Is that what Rove said?
...that would mean that Rove thinks that it will be smoother sailing through to the election for republicans. But, the numbers say different, so what does Rove know that we don't? Is he thinking, "Go ahead dumb asses, register as many new voters as you want. We (RW) still control the process (voter list purges, voting machine tampering, supreme court rulings)." We need to just line up in front of the voting stations in Florida on election day and make sure eveyone who arrives gets to cast a vote. Then seal the ballots and have the UN come in and do the actual counting.

7. the young vote
as QuidditchFan notices may be a real difference this time and they would be under most "polling" radar.

11. Bingo!
This is what I've been saying. 18-25 year olds are rarely polled, and they're going to be voting in this election much more so than in previous ones. They support Kerry by a wide margin. That is going to be our secret weapon that carries us to victory!

10. This election could depend entirely on the black vote
That is why in the swing state of Ohio I am focusing most of my efforts on registering and talking to african-americans about "sending that man back to Texas on Nov. 2"

I am also talking with gays and young hip types. I do this everyday on my lunchbreak and today I did it at the grocery store (gypsy cab drivers) I am registering and motivating Kerry voters face to face (the best way)

It's easy and so so satisfying...

13. Single moms are underrepresented, too.
Lots of organizations have swing-state letter writing campaigns if it's hard for for people to get out or talk on the phone.

Name an issue. If the Kennebunkport Kowboy pissed somebody off about it, they've started a letter campaign. Just Google it, I guarantee you'll find one!

14. Thanks And Keep It Up...This Is Valuable Work
It's great to get a report from inside the cities here and get a feel of what's happening in the black and hispanic communities. Not only doesn't the "mainstream media" but even DU pays little attention to what's going on there and the difference the black and hispanic vote can make for this and future elections.

Hopefully there are a lot of energized blacks in Cinci...considering how they've had a rough past few years, and are pissed off and ready to take it out on *.

Yes, I do the same as you...one voter face-to-face at a time...they appreciate someone listening as opposed to talking and when you are able to connect, it's a very gratifying feeling.

I enjoy this regime claiming how well things are going for them. The more we hear it, the angrier it should make us...and more determined to win for all of us in November.

Cheers from Chicago!
